My just-sent email to Mr. Novak:
Mr. Novak:

On a recent Crossfire, in response to a woman's description of life as a member of the growing population that lives below the rate of poverty in the United States, you advised her to "Stop whining and suck it up". Golly! What constructive advice!

Well, I have a little proposition for you, Mr. Novak. It'll get you out in the fresh fall air:

I propose sauce for the goose, Mr. Novak, if you have the seeds God gave you and the grit to really use them.

I propose you, as a courageous and fearless journalist, live for three months below the poverty line, experiencing all the delights and wonders of what happens When Good Economies Go Bad, at least for One Fodder Units who don't have the money to become Major Political Donors and get on the Iraq Sugartit.

So, show some guts, Mr. Novak. Go *really* live like someone below the poverty level in the United States. True, you may become quite ill from Palm Steakhouse Deficiency(a truly terrible, terrible syndrome! Oh, the humanity!), but you would be, at least, incrementally closer to the reason you became a journalist in the first place: To Report The Truth. You might also rehydrate that black and atrophied raisin-like thing you surely refer to as your soul.

C'mon, Mr. Novak. Take the challenge. Live it up. Or down. I am sure that the management and producers of CNN are salivating at the endless possibilities of the Pulitzers and other awards that could well result from you showing a little courage and grit. Write a real story, for a change, instead of simply doing schtick.

Ahh...you probably don't even know that a country exists outside of the beltway, and believe that Arlington is the beginning of The Wild Frontier.

4. Good email, too bad hes such a coldhearted bastard
only a blackhearted human being could say that about someone who is in that kind of poverty.
Novak sold his soul a long time ago.

9. No, I did not.
But you can rest assured that his email is screened by production slugs before he reads it. I would hope that they, too, use the seeds God gave 'em and CC: it to James and Paul, to increase The Mischief Quotient.

Considering the show's format, it makes sense that they would...

Your letter is so much more eloquent than mine:

Dear Bob,
edit:consume excrement and expire.

11. I sent him an email too
On the same show on the ask the audience segment they talked about Rosalyn Carter dressing up as a ghost for halloween. Novak asked if Hillary Clinton dressed up as a "witch, or something that sounds similar." Those wingnuts just can't let go of the Clintons.

13. why don't they "feel the pain"
They sit in their $mug little world pointing the finger at all the "losers" out there who can't live on their pittance yet who gets the raises? Who gets the perks? Many years ago a similar discussion had to do with food stamps or "why can't the peons eat well on "x" dollars a month"? So a politican and his high brow wifey did an experiment and claimed they lived well and had balanced nutrition. Of course the scales were "slightly" tipped in their favor. They used all their resources including a friendly butcher, the local deli,a microwave,a food processor as well as having the luxury to shop and compare. Now if they had only a couple ratty pots,a stove that only had two working eyes,a local food store that left much to be desired and luttle option to "shop and compare" perhaps they also would not have been able to eat well. To the Novaks and Silver Spoon people walk a mile in the well worn shoes of the minimum wage earners, the part time wage earners as well as the day labors and those not lucky to be working at all and see if you still can be so high and mighty.

15. He makes me ill........
I heard him say that then he grinned from ear to ear like he thought he was cute. If we would all quit watching his show and reading his columns, MAYBE we could get rid of him.
