And so the message of the day is, "What banner?"

Soon to be followed by, "What flight suit?"

Or maybe, "What aircraft carrier?"

As the whole political world is remembering these days, on May 1 President Bush flew out to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in a Navy jet and got out of the plane and into a dazzling photo opportunity. As The Associated Press reported the next day, "He changed out of his flight suit to address thousands of cheering Navy personnel gathered under a banner that read, 'Mission Accomplished.' "

Which, it now seems, just happened to be there.

If the Bushies can't be honest about a two-word banner, the trip through all the rest of those words is going to take quite a while.
