I got this in my company email from a girl I work with. I haven't responded yet and I don't think I should. I don't want to start any "political" wars here.

I cross ocean,
poor and broke,
Take bus,
see employment folk.

Nice man treat me
good in there,

we live together,

Fourteen families,
they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.

Finally, white guy
moves away,
Now I buy his house,
and then I say,

"Find more aliens
for house to rent."
And in the yard
I put a tent.

Send for family
they just trash,
But they, too,
draw the welfare cash!

Everything is
very good,
And soon we
own the neighborhood.

We have hobby --
it's called breeding,
Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist?
Wife need pills?
We get free!
We got no bills!

American crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare

If they no like us,

regarding racism? It's bad enough to be sending around crap like this, but to do it using company e-mail is foolish. I would hope your boss would not approve of this type of message being sent on company time using company resources.

13. If you let it go...

then sentiments like this only spread. Even if you just go to her in person and gently advise her that you don't share the sentiments and don't ever want to receive stuff from her again because they're racist in nature - that would be a good thing. Gently but firmly drawing a line in the sand that she may not cross is a healthy goal.

What's so sad is that she presumed you felt the same as she. Setting her straight will make you feel much better about all this.
