2. FWIW
there are reporting on MSNBC that the lawyer is in good condition. considering the footage, the shooter was (fortunately) a lousy shot.

...I had my post deleted for calling someone a name, even though I was correct in my assessment.

But it was against the rules.....so the mods were right to delete.

5. I heard of this
but what kind of society is this. Why are people just standing around taking pictures? Those camera men are scum.

9. That's exactly what I was thinking...
here we have a man trying to shoot someone at close range...and no body did anything...but you can bet that those camera man got their shot's for the evening news...

Someone could have ran up behind him and jumped on him while he was shooting...the shooter was so focused on what he was doing that anyone...anyone of those pathetic cameramen could have done something...

Not until the man walked away did they decide to pounce on him...

14. Unfair
Sorry, the guy had a gun. Should they just go charging in and get shot as well? They are there to do a job, to chronicle news. They did their job at risk to their own lives. They didn't ignore a victim or fail to help someone, they failed to intevene and get themselves killed.

18. Good for you
And I would like to think I would have as well. But we can't criticize others for not doing so. Besides, photographers ARE conditioned to be observers.

16. The shooter put the gun in his bag
Edited on Sat Nov-01-03 11:51 AM by Uzybone
and was walking away calmly....meanwhile cameramen were following him around...taking pictures as though he was a hollywood star. If not for that guy (a cop) who charged him, those camera men would have followed him till he probably got in his car and drove off.

19. That's not their job
I commend anyone who would have tried to stop him, but they are not paid to get shot. Just because he put THAT gun in his bag did not mean he didn't have another in his belt.

12. He is the ONE, the prophecy has been set in motion
Did you see that ducking and moving? For a second there, I thought he was going to arch backwards like NEO in the Matrix. And then the guy just calmly walks away with his hands up! Amazing!
