Interesting questions that aren't answered like, "What would the charges be?", make me just a little uneasy.

I think we had at least 5 callers that were there and their stories are surreal. This protest was mainly Pax Christi people and Quakers, most retired and a couple with walkers, why the SS tactics here in sunny SW Florida?

These same protestors have had some 60 Collier Co. (Naples) protests in the last year with little police harrassment.

Why the uptick by the Lee Co. (Ft. Myers) Sheriffs?

last weekend, should look at this video...the BRAVERY of the DC anti-war protesters, who faced cops from three different police forces (DC Police, National Park Police, and FBI) in full armour and riot gear with lots of serious automatic weapons, snipers on roof-tops, supported by car, trucks, motorcycles, and horses, carrying weapons, bats, batons, billy-clubs and mace...lining every street on both sides...yes, it takes BRAVE American Patriots to protest....those who chose to verbally attack the DC anti-war protesters are putting protesters in danger...


some DUers even said that police harrassment and threats never happen, that protesters are never hurt, that it's OK to call protesters names to incite further violence...

watch this video...it's a small picture into the horrors that protesters face in trying to STAND UP to take back OUR government...

Talk about a Police State! Folks, the Cheney Protest was more eventful, than I realized.
I was just forwarded a video of the Cheney Protest that took place yesterday.
Jeez........the Lee County Sheriff's Dept. is worst than the Tampa police! Obviously,
they were working in conjunction with the Bush-Cheney White House Secret Service.

Please take the time to review the video to see how the demonstrators were treated
at the Cheney Protest. The Lee County Sheriff's Dept. threatened the peaceful demonstrators
with arrest, just for trying to exercise their right to Freedom of Speech.

Btw, in the video you will see an ex-Naval Commander by the name of Chuck Tyson, being temporarily arrested by the Lee County Sheriff's Dept. Shaking my head here.
