another lame SNL/Bush opening
Edited on Sat Nov-01-03 11:41 PM by julka
this time Darrell Hammond proves he's no Will Ferrell.

there were a few jabs, but it was pretty tame...something about asking congress for a blank check, cause he didn't have any idea how much the final count would be....

air conditioning, flat screen TVs, Cell phones for everybody in Iraq.

Universal health care, including plastic surgery, all paid for by us.

stuff like that, done to the point of no return.

Hammond tried all summer to get Bush down, but couldn't, then they let Chris Parnell do it, but he was so bad, they gave it to Hammond, apparently, and he's embarrassingly bad, too; pretty much doing it in his own voice, with zero inflection, body language, facial expression (which Ferrell eventually mastered pretty well)

this show gets worse and worse every week.

obvious question, why watch?

don't know.......tape, then watch later, just in case

still haven't seen lots

4. That's why I have TiVo
That way I can record it and fast forward through the parts I don't like, which seems to be most of it these days. SNL definately needs new writers!

5. that show hasn't been one bit funny since the 70's.
I don't know why anybody still watches it. Must be pure boredom.

6. You made no mention of the
awesome BBV dig...."we won't have a peaceful iraq , until we eliminte punchcards ant install touchscreens" or something close to that... met with dead silence...everyone must know its not a joke.

Tina Fey got a great dig at Gropinator....."Two weeks after the election, god cast's his vote" (Pic of California in flames)
classic

7. 50 years from know college courses will use SNL as example of propaganda
during America's darkest days.

Students are going to be lauging not at the lame jokes, but at how obvious the propaganda is.

10. Hope SNL is not going back to Goatboy days
I still have hope they will bring back something 'radical' like mentioning drugs or politics...

Dennis Miller loves GoatBoy...

12. Notice..
That while EVERY episode of SNL was a parody of Clinton in 8+ years that after 9/11 nobody touched Bush for a very long time and now the best they have is shit. It seems to me like NBC might have told the SNL crew to leave their Corporate President alone. Such Bullshit.

14. I didn't think I'd ever see a Bush impression that'd make Chris Parnell ..
... look positively accurate.

But that was it.

I'm a bit shocked, because Hammond has done some fairly decent impressions in the past ... his version of Clinton was quite funny.

Even Horatio Sanz could have gotten better inflections and gestures. Or Al Gore (judging by his impression of Trent Lott on the Christmas show) -- and he's only an amateur at this!

15. I don't know
if I missed a stellar 1st half-hour, but the last hour of the show SUCKED! I mean, it was the worst crap I've seen on SNL ever, and I've watched since they came on the air. My junior high talent show was funnier.
