1. Well, if two deaths in a success means the mission is a success
According to Bush, at least, then that means that this attack irrefutably proves that this mission is going just as planned and that things could not be better in Iraq. I guess that this means Iraq is the safest place in the world for American troops.

7. Best day ever in Iraq
I agree - we'll probably get a spokesperson saying how the resistance is more desparate than ever now.

Will Bush go to his first GI funeral?

2. What is this picture all about?
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 06:09 AM by pbl

The caption says U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division soldiers joke around with Spc. Jeffery Barnaby, center, as they celebrate his 26th birthday at the military base in Tikrit, 193 km (120 miles) north of Baghdad, Iraq, Saturday Nov. 1, 2003. Spc. Moises Rodriguez is seen at right. However, it looks like they are making fun of captured Iraqis. That is very disturbing.

On Edit: Why is it attached to such a terrible story?

4. I don't even know how to assimilate that photo
It is beyond words.

We will learn in the coming days, years and decades what we have done to these children, our soldiers.

Why is the photo attached to this story? Because, in spite of a ruckus good fight in Iraq, we are having BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!! woo hooooooooooooooo
