1. I still think that number is padded ... |
|
with people who themselves are out of touch with reality (ie the ultra rich).
I would believe more like 70%.

Let's keep this one up there, in the forefront even if it may be padded. The numbers are getting better.

3. And wait until the latest deaths and maimings sink in |

As far as I'm concerned, bush has been "out of touch" since the first time his mama smacked him too hard up the side of his head. Frat boy. Silver spoon up his nose. Hard-core drinker. AWOL deserter. Bloodiest hands in America. Blasphemous freak.
Must stop now. Blood pressure rising to dangerous level.

4. I think that 58% have it all wrong, Bush understands their problems |
|
He just doesn't give a shit about them.
This repuke gang has one constituency and that is the rich ruling class. All the rest of us do the work and the dying that keeps them in power. As long as we continue to act like passive, domesticated pets and don't question anything, they have nothing to worry about.

... a lot depends on the wording of the questions asked and the size and diversity of the sample.
Sorry, I work for a demographer.... a great person from whom I've learned a lot.
Still, as long as the trend continues, it's good news and certainly should be talked about. So much of what people think is perception, and just believing something is so can sometimes make it so. So, start spreading the word!

6. i had an interesting conversation @ work |
|
there was 5 of us in the break room; and the topic turned to *'s future. one person said that he thinks that * is looking pretty bad -- and this guy is a hard core rush fan -- been kinda low key since the oxcy-contin thing. then another person said that the Iraq mess is being under-reported -- frickin DUH! then a young woman says "well i heard that the economy is ususlay the fault of the previous admin" and by this time more people had come in to the break room; and an older lady - i will cherish this for a long time - who we all knew says "if that is true, then who was responsible for Geo. Washington's economy? the britsh crown?" the young lady had nothing to say. then the rush fan says "we would have been attacked even if Gore was in the white house" i asked him if he was aware that the Clinton admin had told bushCo. about the threat from Osama, and that BushCo had ignored the security report put together by Hart-Rudman -- thank you Al Franken after i said that he shook his head, and did nto say anything else.
IMHO the reduction of slimbaugh in the daily brainwashing of republican meme, has a lot to do with how fast the public is waking up. the people who would have been shouted down otherwise cowed into supporting the repub meme of the day are finding their voice, and they are finding support for the dissenting - and perfectly American by the way - opinion.

I listened one day last week when I ran out for lunch, and they had some Roger guy on instead, and this guy is a total moron. First, he started laying the blame of the California wildfires on the Democrats for their not passing the Bush bill to allow deforestation (or whatever it's called)... and, previously, he *seriously* compared Iraq to Germany in WW2, with the admonition that American troops are still in Germany now (meaning, to me, that US troops will be in Iraq around my 100th birthday in 60+ years)

http://www.msnbc.com/news/988055.aspSo there are a lot of people out there who can't name one single issue they approve of *'s handling of, but they still support him I guess just because he's such a swell guy.

10. Don't confuse approval with support. |

His re-elect numbers are in the mid 40's. I think that people don't like to be harsh, especially when they have a limited knowledge of what it is they are talking about.

14. Yep. That sounds like Ronnie in late 1983. |
|
People really didn't like many of his policies, but yet, they liked HIM.
But I don't think that Junior has that much personal appeal. Plus, Ronnie did not have a war going on in a country who NEVER attacked us, losing at least 2 servicepeople a day!
