Zell Miller on Meet the Press now completing his sellout
Harping on Mondale telling people in 1984 he was going to raise our taxes. I guess he forgot that Reagan did raise our taxes. He continues to rag on the Democratic party.

Why is this clown still a democrat if he had issues with the party for over twenty years.

1. He should just switch parties. . .
. . .the Republicans already control the Seante, and he is not running for re-election. I would support is defection.

5. some of the tax increases during the Reagan years
Here are some of the tax increases during the Reagan years
In 1982 over $230 billion in tax increases. This included the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA), the biggest tax hike in history up to that time, $214 billion in its first five years, or $2,562 per household. As chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Bob Dole was key to convincing the Reagan White House to go along with the massive tax hike. Without TEFRA, Dole said at the time, "the deficits wouldn't go down." The deficit soon shot to record heights anyway.
In 1983, Social Security tax increases, a seies of automatic tax increases totalling $58 billion in the first five years, or $691 per household.
In 1984, Finance Chairman Dole steamrolled through the $132 billion Deficit Reduction Act (DEFRA), totalling $890 per household.
In 1985, $13 billion Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act(COBRA) bill totalling $150 per household.
In 1986, increase capital-gains taxes in a trade-off which reduced marginal income tax rates, all part of the "revenue neutral" Tax Reform Act. In addition to nearly $23 billion in other assorted tax

Zell(out) won't mention this of course

23. lol
I was just thinking to myself "IIrc, Reagan raised taxes 5 of his 8 years in office." Thanks for the specifics. Why this isn't used to nail the Pugs to the wall, I'll never know.

6. One wonders if the Busheviks asked him to stay in the Democratic Party
for just such a purpose.

Perhaps not. Motivations scarcely matter anymore in this time of Rising Empire.

7. Seriously, has Zell EVER voted with the Dems in the Senate?
With the exception of voting for the majority leader, when the Dems were in charge, I can't think of a single time.

13. Just Said He Will NEVER Leave the Dem "Old House"
even if "the commodes don't work" and "(didn' hear who) people I don't know moved into the basement." Because he's lived in the old house all these years and only has a few more to go. His recipe for Dem "success"------he wants Repukism from a Dem label, cut taxes, tough on crime and "welfare" and big government, strong on war. Well, alrighty then.

The Democrats cannot represent the non partisans in the South on the issues that have polarized the party.

How can the Democrats support the symbolism of the confederate flag; the Christian right?; the NRA and all the gun issues?; pro life?; church and state issues?; gay issues?

Zell Miller presented his argument about the Democratic Party from where his consitutents stand. And as he stated....we either let go of the South or change the philosophy.

21. As someone who lives in the south
some of that may be true, BUT those are the exact same issues that CONTINUE to keep the south STUCK...stuck in prejudices, bigotry, and ignorance.

Zell needs to go. He does the Democratic party more harm than good.

He needs the :kick: boot.

Zell Miller has sold him out. Zell Miller is now supporting the party that mocked a hero who had his limbs shot off in Viet Nam.

SHAME ON YOU ZELL MILLER!

I hope you like your seat on whichever BFEE corporate board they find for your SORRY ASS!

19. Miller repeated the "integrity" charge that Gen. Shelton leveled at Clark
Mind you, Shelton never provided any basis for his accusation, although I expect to see that if Clark becomes the Dem nominee.

Why do we have Miller with a "D" after his name, unless the "D" stands for "Dickhead"?
