1. WTF????????
....Should the election be cancelled next year then Mr. Miller, Ms. Parker???

Maybe old Zell is going back to his anti-Democratic "Dixie" roots?

We should be having a debate about what to do next! Miller and this bimbet would not mind if we all walked off of a cliff because the President said too!!!

BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. We all support our troops and understand that we have to win the
War on terrorism. But this is ridiculous. We should all support any war this president starts just because he started it? The statement, poltics stops at the waters edge was not meant to represent this. A good example of that is the way we all came together after 911. Vast majorities understood why we had to go into Afghanistan and challenge those who attacked. Sure, some of us argued how it was carried out, but for the most part, politics stopped at the waters edge.

There was a country where for decades, politics stopped at the waters edge, no matter what the war was that their leader started. It was Germany.

3. "My country right or wrong" is an evil way of thinking.
There has never been a more lethal force in the history of man than fanatical, unquestioning nationalism. Not religion, not political ideology, not any other factor.

4. Here's the link... read the whole thing. It's appalling
But then, what RW writing isn't?

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/kathleenparker/kp20031101.shtml

snip (the first paragraph isn't bad):

Personally, I find reprehensible the administration's policy of concealing our military dead. On the eve of the Iraq war, the Pentagon issued a directive forbidding "arrival ceremonies for, or media coverage of, deceased military personnel."

Bush as nanny doesn't fit Bush as commander-in-chief. We're grown-ups out here.

As grown-ups, Americans can absorb the reality that the war against Iraq was both legitimate given Saddam's refusal to abide by U.N. resolutions and necessary as a response to Sept. 11, even absent a group hug between al-Qaida and the Saddamites.

end snip.

Barf.

7. But it is Bush and the Repubs that want it to be political...
Should Democrats just surrender the issue to them and agree with everything they spin about the war? That is why Democrats have to disagree with this war, because it is so political. We have to speak up about what we think are distortions and lies. We have no choice.

8. Absolutely no doubt
There can be absolutely no doubt that the holding of elections during WWII caused the Japanese and Germans to fight 'harder and longer.' That's why half of the US speaks German and the other half speaks Japanese....

9. Hello?
Politics got us into this damn "war" in the first place!!!

The politics of revenge, the politics of profits, the politics of distraction, the politics of destroying the Constitution, the politics of Greed and Xenophobia.

Now, suddenly, politics are out of place?

:wtf:
