The deadliest "coalition"
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 04:13 PM by SoCalDem
In almost every conflict that the world has known (in "modern times"), the coalition between bitter,cranky old men and uneducated, gullible young men, seems to be the recipe for certain disaster..

Is this because the women are less influential on their husbands and sons, or that they are just oblivious to all the signs.. Women have been said to be the civilizing force , but the theory seems to have broken down repeatedly..

I have seen on too many occasions to count, how the so-called leaders use fear and ignorance to further their ideological and economic disasters, and since they are too old and too cowardly to do it themselves, they must whip up the younger, testosterone-laden to do their bidding..

What is it in society, that allows this to happen, generation after generation?? It has to be ignorance and blind faith.. It seems that every time there is a time of enlightenment , the pendulum swings back into hatred, greed, and ultimately, war..

2. The old can not fight and that is why it is usually a 20 year thing.
Officers do not fight in the higher ranks and as they are in a long time, they plan.The young and strong have always been the fighter. Also people did not live long. Wonder if you have heard that the Am.men are taking the gold from the women. That is where they keep their money, in gold, and I read that the Am. are saying they are too poor to have gold so are taken it.The people have to let them in homes so the men just take what they want, saying it must be from looting. Interesting.

3. A gender issue?

<snip>
The War — Support remains very high for the current U.S. military action against targets in Afghanistan, and for possible future action. Ninety-two percent support the airstrikes. Seventy-six percent support sending "a significant number of U.S. ground troops" to overthrow the Taliban. And 87 percent support military action against other countries that assist or shelter terrorists.

Support for all these is as high among women as it is among men — an extraordinary result, since woman usually are less apt to support the use of military force. It's another sign of the extent to which the public has closed ranks.

4. To "some" men, life is cheap..
Biologically, life IS cheap to the male.. He is capable of "fathering" a multitude of offspring, but for the woman who literally "grows" the child from her own body, and then is responsible for its food for many years, life is very costly.. Fathers are more involved in their children's lives now than ever before, but in backwards countries, I would imagine that little has changed.. Women are more physically "invested" in their children's lives..
