Is Jeb Bush presidential material?
I don't know anything about him, being in the west. What about it, is he presidential material or is he an also-ran in terms of the presidency?

1. I am personally sick of the Bush empire
I'm equally sick of the Clinton Empire(shall Hillary run in 08).

Can we have a president of the people for crying out loud? I'm sick of these empires.

2. As much as his brother.
The Bushes play the "moderate" game until they gain Power (not state power, but national). Then, their true colors come out - whether clueless Daddy, or fascist GWB. Jeb may be the smartest. That makes him the most dangerous. Presidential material? Yeah. If you want him to be the last freely elected president (unless his brother beats him to it in 2004).

16. Well, let me count the ways.
They are running the state government against the Sunshine Laws. Things are done covertly, things we don't even know yet.

They just do pretty much what they want to do. If someone complains, or the legislature blocks him (and Glenda) they find a back door to accomplish the same thing.

The legislature crosses him now and then, but not really. They pretty much toe the line.

I have many articles I have saved, just to remind me of all the stuff we don't know is going on.

Only God knows the true state of our Florida pension plan.

I could go on but it is too tiring.

George's callousness and malevolence is tempered by his incompetence and lack of imagination. That won't be a problem for Jeb.

22. You really should take some time and read about his background
Here's a google search on Jeb Bush and Miguel Recarey, one of his former partners who pulled off the most horrendous Medicare swindle in U.S. history:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Jeb+Bush+Miguel+Recarey&btnG=Google+Search

Here's a google search on Jeb Bush and Armando Codina, another Cuban "exile" business partner in Miami":

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Jeb+Bush+Armando+Codina&btnG=Google+Search

It will take an investment of some of your time to find out more about his history. There's no encapsulated form to explain it to you.

The problem is we've got to find a way to put things like this into easily digestable sound bites. Otherwise we could easily be looking at the gop nominee for president in '08.

26. Much more so than his brother
I'm very scared of jeb. He is much smarter, much more articulate (in Spanish and English), and much more extreme than his brother.

I don't think that he has the religious complex and I don't think he thinks he's god's chosen (which would be somewhat of an improvement), but he's just as confident that his way is the only right way. And, unfortunately, his way is philosophically very similar and just as bad as his brother.

There are a lot of personal issues that SHOULD make it difficult for him to run. All his kids are screw-ups, he's been cheating on his wife for years with an ex-playboy bunny on his staff (or so the rumors go), and he's done a lousy job as governor. But I don't know that those things will stop him. Similar things didn't stop his brother.

30. Maybe we are lucky W won Texas
and became governor, otherwise Jeb would be president now and I believe that he would be even worse than W. Only because Jeb plays the game better and he is more personable.

I actually met Jeb when he was getting ready to run for governor and was going around the state to find out what the people of Florida wanted from their government. I happened to be in charge of a community redevelopment task force at the time and got invited to go with the group showing Jeb around town one day. He was tall, good looking and very pleasant. He was sincere and came across has a good listener who was very interested in what we were doing. He even gave me his business card and wanted me to email him about our activities. That's why he scares me more than W. I grew up on the streets of NY. I can usually sniff out the slimballs. If I didn't know who and what Jeb was/is, I would have thought he was a really nice guy.

He wants to see state buildings empty in Florida. Just think if he was president. Empty buldings all over the country.

He's just like his brother in that he sees the treasury as his personal piggy bank.

Need proof, find articles at www.stpetetimes.com about his deal with the Scripps Institute and his education cuts.

$310 million to pay employee and executive salaries (the biggest piece of corporate welfare i have ever seen) and benefits.

Educaton gets cut by $66 million while prisons get an emergency $66 million boost.

39. Just from an environmental perspective,
Jebbie has done more damage to Florida than a 1000 hurricanes. I have about two pages of links to articles on the stuff he has pulled just in his first term. I'm an oceanographer here in Florida and he has gutted environmental protections, our deparment of environmental protection, eliminated growth management regs, and given passes to Florida's biggest polluters. I'd have to take off a year work to help campaign against him if he ran for president. There is no way I would inflict the entire nation with this asshole.

I mean, why are you asking this question?

In 2000 I thought Bush was just a sick joke that would go away. I never dreamed people would be dumb enough to vote for him.

But here we are, in 2003. Although I still think he is a joke, the fact remains that he is acting President.

So, why worry if Jeb is qualified? Bush wasn't, and he managed to cheat his way into the White House.

Were Hitler alive and proposing same policies and scare tactics of terrorists about to attack he would be backed all the way by Repugs in invasion of neighbor and effort to conquer the world and eliminate all jews(muslims). I believe it.

Repugs march in lock goosestep behind their leader no matter his policies. No matter his character. No matter his morals. No matter his history.

Repugs are lacking character. Independent thought. They are followers of destoyers.

61. It depends
on just how bad you want it to get.

Jebbie was a co-author of PNAC. He is big into privitization of government services. He is a staunch anti-unionist. He is strong in his opposition to affirmative action. He truly loves tax cuts to 'starve the beast'. If he could end public education, he would do it.

It is always good to remember that Jebbie was the "smart one" and W was the "charismatic one".

He is part of the 'brain trust' behind W's misadministration. Better yet he has less 'charisma'.

By logical extension, he must be the equivalent of a charismatic black hole.
