Kucinich Challenges Cheney in Iraq Flap |
|
Democratic presidential aspirant Dennis Kucinich is calling on Vice President Dick Cheney to explain his role in how the now-disavowed claim that Iraq was seeking uranium in Africa ended up in President Bush's State of the Union address.
In a letter sent to the vice president, the Ohio congressman and two members of the House Government Reform subcommittee on national security, emerging threats and international relations asked Cheney to explain his multiple visits to CIA headquarters.
"These visits were unprecedented. Normally, vice presidents, yourself included, receive regular briefings from CIA in your office ... there is no reason for the vice president to make personal visits to CIA analysts," said the letter, which was sent late Monday.
Kucinich and Reps. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., posed 10 questions that they want the vice president to answer, such as: "Did you or a member of your staff at any time direct or encourage CIA analysts to disseminate unreliable intelligence?" *more* http://www.newsday.com/news/politics/wire/sns-ap-kucinich-iraq,0,3825638.story?coll=sns-ap-politics-headlinesWhy is it no one considers this man viable? Oh that's right I forgot. Because he actually says what's on his and our minds instead of waiting for polls and focus groups to tell him it's ok to say it.

1. I think DK is outstanding.....his efforts are to be commended |
|
Right now I'm in the "ABB" camp. He's been out there from the beginning asking this admin. to account for their deeds.
I hope he rips Chaney a new "hole".

for those who don't like to follow links
Kucinich, an outspoken critic of the Iraq war, issued another call Tuesday for the administration to withdraw American troops from Iraq immediately.
"This administration, whose entry strategy was based on falsehood, with no exit strategy, has trapped our troops in Iraq and exposed them to greater harm," Kucinich said in a speech on the House floor.

3. Cheney should have had to resign ALREADY!! |
|
Keep speaking the truth, Dennis!!
Wish moveon.org would have an "investigate the deliberate lying" petition instead of the more generic one.Cheney is the prime mover in this deliberate lying to Congress, the American people and the world, IMHO.

DK rules and I am amazed and delighted by his candor and backbone. He is a true American and should be embraced by us all.
I think he's very viable.

5. Dennis is The Real Deal and does indeed deserve widespread |

support. Perhaps it's BECAUSE he speaks the truth that we keep being told he's unelectable. God forbid we elect someone who actually wants to help the American people.

8. right on the money here |
|
It's precisely because he does call the people to task that the media/pundits are ignoring/ridiculing him. But all I have to say to that is it's because they're worried. Before the media wouldn't even mention his name, now it's about how he's a fringe candidate, etc. etc. It's no longer possible for them to ignore so they have to try and destroy. The momentum is gaining.

10. doesn't the CIA videotape everything in their offices ???? |
|
there is likely a big notice on their gates and offices that warns everyone that they consent to search and videotape at all times, everywhere, in their facilities...
would love to watch the CIA drop the big BOMB on shrub and his minions...that every meeting with cheney was taped....
that was what really did nixon in...the sudden revelation of tape recordings (sound only) of everything in the oval office, and then, the attempt to erase part of the tape....
