Army brass on CNN describing new training Video "game"...
"of course it can't simulate 104 degree temperatures, blowing sand, carrying a 70 lb. back pack or bad guys actually shooting at you..."

So, other than those little details, I guess it's a wonderful tool.

(Uh, seeing what I wrote, I swear that last word was completely inadvertant)

1. Actually those things would be easy to simulate
being that that's really the only fertile ground left in video game space.

I am seeing all of the new games being centered on the controller. i.e. maracas, drums, guitar, turntables etc - i.e. the external inerface to the game.

It would be easy to imagine how to generate 104 degree temperatures and blowing sand. The 70 lb backpack is no problem to simulate.

Guys shooting at you is doable, as long as they are safe bullets, obviously, somethin you can feel, but doesn't hurt.

But they probably wouldn't want players to realize how crappy it really would be.
