2. None none at all
If UT is even remotely competetive then Bush is losing horribly.

4. Not even Jesus could win in Utah.
A dirty, long-haired hippy like the Christ-dude would not go over well in Salt Lake.

In terms of Texas, does anyone really believe they would ever vote for a peace-loving, forgiving person like Jesus? Yeah, if he picked up two six-shooters and rode around on a horse shooting into the air.

6. Only if AFTER the votes were counted...
The Supreme Court (or some other self-appointed election authority) said, "OK, now all of the Red states go to the Democrats, and all of the Blue ones to Republicans." THEN we'd get Utah.

7. I think we stand a better chance to win my state than Utah

Now, if the nominee endorsed polygamy...

on edit: We can win Eutaw though. That's a small town near here that's about 90% African-American.

8. Legalize Polygamy?
Unfortunately the other 49 states would vote against the nominee with that platform.

(I'm kidding, I'm kidding! Please, don't throw anything!)

9. Probably not.
What gets me is how do all these Mormons out there believe they really have a place at the table with all these fundy protestants in the gop inner circle?

21. get Joe Smith of the Milwaukee Bucks to run as VP

13. Have you all forgotten Ross?
Had Ross not dropped out and then re-entered the race in '92, thereby making him seem too flaky to the majority of voters, he could have given Clinton a chance to win Utah in a 3-man race.

A strong 3rd party candidate siphoning off votes from from the Republicans seems like the only possible way.

15. Utah does...
have a Democratic Congressman, Jim Matheson. But, I still don't think we'd ever carry the state.

17. Never.
I lived there from 1977 until 1996. The state is one of the most conservative states in the U.S. Many senior members of the LDS (Mormons) church insist that in order to be a good Mormon you must vote Republican.

20. Everybody in the state is wiped out
except for a few precincts in Salt Lake City.

Which I wouldn't wish on anybody, even Republicans.
