3. Against
Even the christians, who seem to be strong in their faith. In fact, when I asked one of them if this wasn't a good christian war I was informed that war is not the christian way.

Now my cousin, who has always been an idiot, works for the cops. He seems to think Bush* can do no wrong. I imagine a bunch of the cops must feel that way, too.

12. Amen!
I am taking some on-line classes and there are some police officers in my class and just by the way they post I can tell they are big idiot supporters. I can't understand why.

4. Most were against
even during the buildup. But not all for the same reasons (eg my Buchanon supporting bro-in-laws were different than those reasons of my quaker mother).

Haven't spoken about it with the part of my family that is pro-war. Not sure how pro or skeptical they were, and where they stand now. Somehow all discussions with that flank turn to... At least it isn't Clinton... :eyes:

7. Mine are typically wishy washy, like most americans.....
They don't like war, and in the early lead up to it, they initially thought this one was a bad idea. But as they got worn down by all the media and admin spin they all resigned themselves to a "Well, we're going in anyway so we really should support the troops...." and also actually believed that our government wouldn't mislead us so they simply placed their trust that everything would turn out o.k.

Now they are more realizing it was a bad idea but it's not something that they think or worry about on a daily basis.

In other words they are probably like tens of millions of other americans out there.

8. 50/50 split pretty much. But on the pro war 50 there are a few who
support it because they are "good little Americans" who think it is wrong to question one's govenment in a time of war. Insert :puke: here.

10. Most definetly against,
my husband and I are and always will be against any kind of military action, against another human being. For over 2000 years it has done nothing for civilized society and it never will. The sad part is that men will never learn how to live side by side peacefully.

13. I don't converse with most of my family...we're not close.
However, my parents and I are all against King George's Folly, and have been since the beginning. Oh, and my dad's a veteran, too. He also knows right from wrong.

16. Supported But Thought Bush Was Incompetent
My family is the type to forward cheesy 9/11 e-mails. But they can't believe how poorly Bush handled this from front to back.

17. Most of my family is against. One brother supports..
it as he would almost any war. He hasn't changed much in that regard since we were kids. :eyes: My son is kind of ambivalent about it. It kind of supports it but he doesn't trust or support bush... (thanks to me).

18. Well I am against it
And my two cats are defiantly against it and hate all forms of chaos for any reason.
And as for my extended family, I hardly ever talk politics with them. Most of them have no interest in politics but know that most of them feel uneasy right now about the war whether they support it in principle or not.

Have you ever wondered why animals do not war? There has never been a cat war or a dog war in the history of the earth has there?
Sure dogs will kill cats and eat them but it is not out of hate…or fear that the cat will kill them. They love cats became it is a complete meal ready to eat.
And the same is true of cats; they just love a nice juicy rat in that convenient stay fresh package. And even though dogs are a definite danger to cats you don’t see them waiting in alleys ready to waste any stray dog.

I think that some people are excited by the chaos of war and conflict and learn to love the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. And it always better if you are a spectator and not a participant. And better still if you are the one that pulls the strings that make your solders go kill other solders and blow up the other guys stuff.

Go to this page and dowload the "Do you support the war on Iraq" flyer.

It has 20 questions about the history of the invasion and of Iraq. It let's people find out if they made an informed decesion.

It is called:
Downloadable flyer to test people’s knowlege of Iraq facts. Teach them to make informed decisions.

I hope it helps to get the point across.

24. As long as it's a repug
in the WH, most of them are for the war. Now if Bill were in office, they'd be totally against it. That's one reason why I've yet to see any of these family political conversions some talk about here. It will be a cold day in hell before my old man votes for a Democrat. The only way for that to happen would be if we dug up Harry Truman. And then only if Harry nuked some other country.
