As someone who voted for your team in the election that gave the nation George Bush and Dick Cheney rather than Al Gore and yourself, I am puzzled by your failure to tap into the outrage many of your fellow Democrats felt and continue to feel about Republican chicanery in Florida (purging African-American voters with a faulty felon list, for example) and on the Supreme Court. I, for one, was disappointed when you called the Ninth Circuit decision on the pledge the "worst" decision you'd ever witnessed. Didn't you witness Bush v. Gore? Sen. Lieberman, what can you say to a Democrat like me who feels that the corruption in the electoral system in Election 2000 was a betrayal of American democracy? How do you propose we be paid our restitution for this travesty?
