Bush's 'End to Major Combat' Speech
Just FYI, here's the great speech at what Bush thought was the close of the Battle of Iraq. It captures him at his gloating best, sounding like he's putting a wrap on World War II.

And more or less annoints himself the chosen one. He has to be the Anti-Christ.

3. Quotes from the speech.
The President has sought to distance himself from the "Mission Accomplished" banner, even to the point of telling a wholly unbelievable lie about it. Which of the following quotes from his speech sound similar to the message, "Mission Accomplished"?

Major combat operations in Iraq have ended.

In the Battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.

Our nation and our coalition are proud of this **accomplishment** - yet it is you, the members of the United States military, who achieved it.

he tyrant has fallen, and Iraq is free.

America is grateful for a job well done.

The Battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11th, 2001, and still goes on.

errorists and their allies believed that they could destroy this nation's resolve, and force our retreat from the world. They have failed.

We have removed an ally of al--Qaida, and cut off a source of terrorist funding. And this much is certain: No terrorist network will gain weapons of mass destruction from the Iraqi regime, because the regime is no more.

6. "Combat operations have ended"...OR
"Major combat operations have ended"?

Some time ago it was discussed at DU that aWol said the first, but the official site changed the speech after so many 'post-combat' US soldier deaths.

ANYONE have a link for this change????
