people in genuine pain. father who lost his wife and only son in three days (son was going home to attend his mom's funeral)
oh, they had an army spokesmodel saying that "morale remains high"

1. God, those poor families! |

If only their children and brothers and sisters had died for some other reason besides enriching Halliburton and the rest of the Bushevik Capos...

5. I disagree tom_paine... |

You characterize their service as though they had any say in the rationale for war. They died defending their country, and they will always be patriots and heros. That's it.
"Theirs was not to question why. Theirs was but to do and die..."
Blame Bush* and the Repugs totally, but don't short the soldiers who died while serving our great country.
Peace,
Keo

I detected nothing of the sort from TP's post. He did not "characterize" anything. He was simply making a valid point - that these men died for the enrichment of BushCO contributors and cronies.

2. Same story was on ABC. |
|
Also had a medical person who treats wounded soldiers scoff and roll his eyes at the line "end of major combat operations". I guess he didn't get the "be upbeat" memo.
The mother of one of the slain soldiers was crying out about someone needing to do something about what's going on over there...

God, that poor man! We need to keep him in our prayers.
FUCK.
And, by the way, when will his imperial lordship be arriving at their funerals? What stirring remarks will he offer?

is never criticized by the media for it...At least I haven't heard or seen or read anything....How the hell does he get away with it...Surely the American public must notice this lack of compassion on his part from the "compassionate conservative!"

So I didn't see it. It is really great that media outlets are reporting real news, instead of knuckling under to The usual Pack of Idiots.
Between TV and The Internet, I have a feeling that the ramp-up to universal disgust with Chimpy is gonna be pretty damn quick.

7. you guys need to STOP this feeling sorry nonsense |

don't you know it comforts our enemies, and endangers the troops, when we feel sympathy for families who lost loved ones? These are not 9/11 victims' families, these are soldiers' families, and our wise and glorious Republican party asserts that we are NOT to pay attention to this kind of thing. These families on NBC are oviously not supporting the troops. They are probably secret devotees of Islam, planning to take away our guns and bibles...
:puke:
<hopefully blatant sarcasm>
I'm going to blow a fucking gasket if we are going to be dealing with this shit much longer...
you know what really killed me today? Seeing a story on Yahoo about dead troops, there had only been a couple of people who rated it at that time, and it was obvious that someone rated it a "1"

9. All I had to do was stop watching television.... |
|
and three days later the networks decide to start reporting the news.
I knew I had something to do with this.
Remind me not to vote anymore, either.

CBS also had a segment on five soldiers. That is a trifecta.
