"Mrs. Kravitz" wins over half a million bucks from US. Govt.
Gang,

Gotta love it!

Secretly, illegally tape record phone conversations with your very young and very trusting new friend. Encourage her, prod her into seducing her employer. Take it upon yourself to insert yourself into the private life of the President of the United States. Give the tapes to an overzealous, moralizing Special Prosecutor seeking to bring down the popular President, no matter how much it cripples his Presidency, stagnates Congress from getting anything done, and demoralizes the entire country.

Become the very willing and publicity-hungry center of several years-long media storm. Become "chagrined" that most Americans think very poorly of you for betraying your friend and sticking your nose into other people's private lives. Retreat from the spotlight and have plastic surgery on your face so now Americans can't recognize you as "that nosy, back-stabbing bitch, Linda Tripp." Publicly take out ads and solicit donations from people due to your "sudden poverty" and having to sell your house. Blame "The Bill Clinton Political Machine" for all of your problems. Remain unrepentant.

File a lawsuit against the US Government for THEM YOUR PRIVACY and...

KA-CHING!!!!

Captain Mike

Linda Tripp Gets $595,000 from U.S. in Privacy Suit

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?floc=FF-RTO-rontz&idq=/ff/story/0002%2F20031103%2F185714093.htm&sc=rontz

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government will pay over half a million dollars to Linda Tripp, a central figure in the Monica Lewinsky scandal, as part of a settlement of lawsuits that accused U.S. officials of violating her privacy, court documents showed on Monday.

Tripp's secretly taped conversations with Lewinsky fueled the sex scandal that almost brought down former President Bill Clinton. Tripp transferred to a job at the Pentagon from the White House after news of her tape recordings became public.

Tripp sued the Defense Department and the U.S. government for privacy violations, including a charge that officials leaked information that she was interviewing for a job at a lower rank and salary than her old job.

7. "as part of a settlement of lawsuits" -Bush chose to pay her as reward
They can't even pay out their bribe and hush money without putting the touch on Uncle Sam.

And Bush has made a nice anti-Clinton headline out of Bush giving away US monies.

Funny how no one in the media spins it this way.

18. Yup. It's like "sue and settle" with the environment.
The Bushies can't just give away money (or land use rights, etc.). They just "wait" for their friends to sue the government and then settle the case.

For illegally taping phone calls without consent of both parties which is a crime in Maryland. Fuck giving her any money she should have been given a sentence.

16. HER privacy was violated?
Typical of the hypocritical Right - go to the courts and get big bucks for what they themselves have done in other circumstances. Takes gall for her to complain about her privacy rights being violated. Hopefully she will crawl into her well-compensated hole and we won't have to hear from her again (unless John Goodman wants to do another spoof on SNL - he was great).
