MSNBC: Be Sure To Catch The Olbermann Repeat tonight |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-03-03 08:15 PM by Cush
at 12am est. Author David Maraniss "They Marched Into Sunlight" was on. He talked about the connections to Vietnam in 1967: Troops not sure why they are there (Gulf of Tonkin/WMDs), who is the enemy, to the statements of the administration, twisting of facts, etc.

1. best news show on the air. |
|
the interview with the author was detailed and presented the case that we have a whole load of shit about to come down if we don't get out soon.
olbermann is the only one around who would even have such an interviewee, and he let the man speak for whole minutes without interupting to redirect the issue away from the obvious conclusion that we are fucked over there.
i think olbermann is gold, and its strange to think him merely being objective is so extraordinary in today's news casts.

I caught part of his show right after Powell's testimony to the United Nations.
It looked like Olberman was completely ignorant of the facts regarding Powell's shaky testimony.
We on Democratic Underground knew that most of Powell's testimony had already been refuted. Yet Olberman did not.
Olberman's comments about the anti-war movement caused me to believe he was another flag waving pro-war commentator. Am I wrong?

6. The one thing I remember about Olbermann |
|
was that when he was on MSNBC (I think that was the network) during the Lewinsky scandal, he quit because he was tired of being told he had to cover it 24/7.

7. if you like Olbermann... |
|
....write and let the network know. He told me in e-mail (as I have noted before) that he could have total control of content if more libs would watch. News executives feel compelled to pander to the MSNBC demographics, which lean to conservatives.
