O'Really is having a stroke
He keep saying he is looking out for CBS and repeating that the Reagan miniseries is going to hurt it... I think if he keeps repeating it he'll believe, but both of his guests are disagreeing with him... he's coming unglued! The Spinmeister can't spin his way... and he's hating it... I love it... The woman told him isn't the Fox slogan "you decide" and he lost it... spouting that Nancy was being portrayed as Cruella DeVille. He is also concerned that it will somehow hurt Dan Rather... Nothing better than to see him come apart... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

3. Fair and balanced ex fox news producer article.
Saw this article in the N.O. paper sunday.
(from the L.A. Times)

Miles from 'fair and balanced'

A veteran producer this week alleged that Fox News executives issue a daily memorandum to staff on news coverage to bend the network's reporting into conformity with management's political views, refocusing attention on the partisan bias of America's most watched cable news operation.

Dingell Joins Republicans to Protest CBS’s Mini-Series "The Reagans"

Demands "Fair and Balanced" Portrayal of 40th President

Washington, D.C. – Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI) today joined the Rev. Jerry Falwell, Members of Congress and conservative pundits in demanding that CBS ensure that its upcoming two part mini-series "The Reagans" is an accurate portrayal of the Reagan legacy. In a letter to CBS President Leslie Moonves, Dingell wrote, "I trust that CBS will not be a party to a distorted presentation of American history."

Rep. Dingell, who served in the Congress during both of President Reagan’s terms in office, offered this advice to Mr. Moonves:

"As someone who served with President Reagan, and in the interest of historical accuracy, please allow me to share with you some of my recollections of the Reagan years that I hope will make it into the final cut of the mini-series: $640 Pentagon toilets seats; ketchup as a vegetable; union busting; firing striking air traffic controllers; Iran-Contra; selling arms to terrorist nations; trading arms for hostages; retreating from terrorists in Beirut; lying to Congress; financing an illegal war in Nicaragua; visiting Bitburg cemetery; a cozy relationship with Saddam Hussein; shredding documents; Ed Meese; Fawn Hall; Oliver North; James Watt; apartheid apologia; the savings and loan scandal; voodoo economics; record budget deficits; double digit unemployment; farm bankruptcies; trade deficits; astrologers in the White House; Star Wars; and influence peddling."

Rep. Dingell concluded, "I hope you find these facts useful in accurately depicting President Reagan’s time in office."

Go Dingell. Maybe they should redo this mini-series and try to be more accurate and show the world what a real asshole Ronnie was.

23. This would be a good juxtaposition with what they're dishing out
at the Reagan Library. Shoot! Rewriting history by the minute, out there. Where they did NOT mention anything about the inflation, the job loss, the reprehensible record on the environment, the cozying up to Saddam - and EVERYTHING that entailed, OR Iran/Contra, OR John Poindexter, OR Ollie North, or his utter neglect and denial of the AIDS crisis, or anything else. Nope, everything was just rosey out there.

16. And Then He Went on to Tell More Lies
Saying the NYT won't touch RW books but glows over liberal ones. Last I knew, Stupid White Men still hadn't been reviewed.

Anyway, I never watched O'Reilly before tonight; the above mention of Steve Earle made me want to check it out.

Didn't catch Steve, but I saw enough to know O'Reilly ain't nothing but a snake oil salesman.

17. But he finally cleared up FOXNews' political leaning
It seems FOXNews really isn't conservative, according to the Spinmeister... It's just offers a forum for conservative viewpoints that are ignored in other media formats....

Ohhhhhhhh... Well in that case...

I'm not "really" liberal... I just think it's important for everyone to get an equal education, have the same opportunity for employment, housing, healthcare, despite thier ethnic, economic or social background, or who they decide to love... that when I grow a uterus then I will think it's my business to butt into a woman's right to choose... that we are a part of a global community and being the most powerful and rich we have a responsibility to those less powerful or rich... that there is only one planet and what I flush down my toilet will eventually be coming out of my faucet... that guns for hunting are fine, but hunting with an AK-47 means you're hunting people... that companies are responsible for their employess, not only thier shareholders...

O'Reilly is such an asshole...

25. Heh- I heard O'Reilly reflexively refer to the Reagan movie as
Edited on Mon Nov-03-03 11:56 PM by Cat Atomic
"satire". He went on to say, "that's what they do- they make all sorts of wild accusations and call it satire".

Well... no one had called the Reagan movie a satire. But Bill had repeatedly fumed over the Franken book's classification as satire. It's shorthand in O'Reilly's brain for "damn that Al Franken!!!".

It's actually very funny. Though he won't even mention Franken now, the "S" word (I mean satire) keeps creeping into his language.

I'm no psychologist, but I'd say Franken is really on that whore's mind of late. He seems eerily obsessed with Franken's book, but determined to give him no more free exposure. He's got an internal battle raging between his two sides. It's hilarious to hear the maniacal bully side struggling with the vindictive chickenshit side.
