if the true goal of Bush* had been to fight a war against terrorism..
where would our troops be now? I'm asking cause I'm in the middle of a debate on another board, and I can dismiss the entire argument if I can find a more logical place for this 'war on terrorism' to be fought. Should it have stayed in Afghanistan? I know the Saudi connections(I also know there were no terrorists links to Iraq) but I don't want to get trapped and have to eat my words so I'm just bugging you guys for info. Thanks!

1. The 'war on terrorism' is pure bullshit. Can't fight a war against a
military technique. The ONLY way to end terrorism is to quit stealing other countries resources and to quit murdering their citizens. Treat every country equally and fairly. That means ending hand-outs to Israel and turning a blind eye to their genocidal atrocities, and treating each country with respct and fairness. The terrorists will go home. You cannot POSSIBLY bomb terrorists into submission unless you blow up every human being on the planet. The war on terrorism is just the latest scam (like war on communism, war on drugs) to sell armaments, steal resources and attain dominance through coloialism and worldwide military bases.

Time to stop this childish thinking.

3. Thanks leesa...
I gotta quit going to those other sites, especially late at night. My mind gets bogged down in the rhetoric and I forget the main argument. Thanks for the reminder!

2. We were in the SAME country as the terrorists who attacked the US.

It's called Afghanistan. We pulled out troops and resources in order to invade Iraq. How ridiculous that we ran out of Afghanistan so that Al Qaeda had to chase us into a country of 26 million people so that then, not only did we have to invade, occupy, and rebuild that country, but be attacked by those same terrorists that we had left. At least when we were in Afghanistan, we had minimal help from neighboring countries Pakistan and Tajikistan, if not Iran. Now we are bordered by Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. Oh yeah, they'll be of NO help and will work against us.

Can you imagine what Al Qaeda members must have been thinking? "Where did the Americans go? Now we have to go after THEM?" We put ourselves into the position of having to play defense instead of offense.

Edited for Tajikistan

5. Oh, I don't know....Ireland?
It's pure BS, because it's not winnable. There's a talking point. Ask them how we are supposed to "win" a "war on terror".

8. I'd like to see...
a war on bullshit.

Whatever they want to call 9/11, it was a criminal act and the perpetrators could be caught through normal police methods. We didn't go to war over the first WTC bombers-- we just caught and tried them.

We have now destroyed two countries at massive cost and have but one mistrial of one low-level schlub out of the whole thing.

Some "war."

9. Pakistan
that's if you believe in any of this crap.

I used to, and when the US suddenly lost interest in Afghanistan and let whoever felt like it escape into Pakistan and did absolutely nothing about it .... and then started talking "Iraq" ...

Well that's when my bullshit detector finally went off.
