Here is my letter to Ms. Glaiser:
Ms. Glaiser,
While I am not a citizen of the State of Alaska, I am a citizen who is
concerned about the direction our nation is going, especially in regards
to voting integrity.
I came across an article that was run in the Anchorage Daily News on
November 1, 2003 (
http://www.adn.com/front/story/4298917p-4309020c.html)
in which you were quoted as saying: "I believe in the machinery," "I would
stake my vote on it." This is a very disturbing comment by someone whom I
believe to not hold a degree in Computer Science.
This is a very controversial topic at the time and it has been picking up
steam in the media. California has moved to block certification of the
Diebold touch-screen machines because of illegal and unethical
installation of an unverified software patch which could have
signifigantly altered the election results
(

Please be aware of the action in the House of Representatives in
Washington D.C. by Congressman Rush Holt of New Jersey who has authored
HR2239 "The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003"
which will put forth measures to ensure our right to vote is protected.
You may view the overview of the bill here:
http://holt.house.gov/issues2.cfm?id=5996I also urge you to take some time and review the following sites:
http://www.blackboxvoting.com - You may download and read the chapters of
a new book by Bev Harris who has uncovered a lot of dirt on these eVoting
machine manufacturers, including fraud in elections in Georgia and
Florida. Please pay attention to chapters 2 and 11.
http://verifiedvoting.orgIgnoring these warning signs is not only putting the votes of the citizens
of Alaska at risk of being compromised but it is also putting the votes of
all Americans at risk. Do not allow this travesty to happen, suspend the use of these devices
until reliable, verifiable, accountable methods can
be found
