Are you happy with your Congressional representives and Senators?
I'm pretty satisfied with my representatives in Congress. My Congresswoman is Jan Schakowsky...very liberal, anti-war in Iraq (she opposed the United States going into Iraq from the very beginning). I'm proud that she represents my district...the 9th Congressional district in Illinois. I support Dick Durbin, Senator from Illinois. He's been on the right side of almost all issues. The other Senator from Illinois, Peter Fitzgerald, I could do without. But he's not running for re-election, so maybe the Democrats can pickup that seat next year.

Does your representatives in Congress reflect your views? Do they do a good job in Washington? Just curious.

Thanks.

1. For the most part
Kerry/Kennedy and John Olver is my Rep. He's great about 99% of the time, but once in a while he pisses me off.

19. Olver
He seems to vote well on most issues. But he's so boooring. But I guess it's better to have a boring liberal than a lively conservative.

26. Exactly
I'll take that any day! The thing I like about Olver is that he's very accessible and is here in the area to actually hear what people are saying very often. You know how little attention Western MA gets from the State legislature, I'll take what I can get from Olver.

2. Yes I am
Ron Wyden is a great congressmen, and I am ok with Gordon Smith, only because he did the right thing and went against his own party when he voted against the drilling in Alaska.

4. I'm happy with one Senator
The other one will hopefully be replaced with one of the good guys next year.

My representative is a no-count low down bitch named Judy Biggert who will NOT receive my vote.

6. No!
My rep is Ralph Regula. He has NEVER supported any of my beliefs or policies.

So I decided to run against him in 2004.

34. Right, Spector and Sanctorectum!
Bleck, could we have worse senators than that crazy loon, Areln Spector, and that Ashcroft wannabe, Rick Santorum?

Howver, my congressman, Chakka Fattah, seems fine, even if you never hear a peep out of him.

13. Levin, Stabenow
in the Senate and we have some rockin' Reps in the House (tho' not from my district--an R)

I am pretty happy with my Senators. Applauded Levin's brave votes last year and his valiant effort to amend the IWR to say Jr had to come and ask permission before kicking off his adventure. Needless to say it was voted down. Don't even recall any of our would-be Presidents from the Senate speaking on its behalf. Sad.

Mind you Levin was in the middle of re-election in an almost-as-safe situation as some IWR backers. I was so proud that day.

15. You are so lucky!
I love Senator Dick Durbin myself and I live in Cincinnati. I even wrote him a letter telling him to keep up the good work on the judiciary committee. My senators SUCK! I have George Voinovich and Mike DeWine. George is more of an old school fiscal conservative who at one time believed in balanced budgets before he blindly started following the president's line. Both are extremely conservative and nauseating!

18. Lucky me, my reps are all good Dems
Though my congressman, Rep. Ron Kind, is a little too centrist for me. But I love Sens. Feingold and Kohl. In a side by side comparison with Feingold, Kohl doesn't look that progressive but he does rather well.

29. As a fellow Wisconsinite, I concur
Feingold and Kohl are representing me well, and my congressman, Tom Petri, was one of the few Repubs to vote against the $87 billion for Iraq.

I'm just so happy I could puke. Our local congressmen and women are all repubs and have been in office since the beginning of time. At the state level they're not too bad, but the federal ones have got to go!

22. Durbin YES. Kirk NO. Fitzgerald, NO but gone soon
Kirk will retain his district, seeing as it's a pencil thin line, which somehow was drawn to include Great Lakes, probably the largest inland Navy base in the country, and Kirk in addition to being a lunatic, is a Naval Reserve Officer.
Fitzgerald is history, and I believe the Dems running have better chances than the Repukes running in this state. After all, this is Cook County voting.

but he's 100% better than my last rep who was a complete sellout to the meatpacking industry. At least he occasionally tries to help the state instead of constantly screwing it over.

33. Suego, I agree on all three
Ramstad really irks me. He tries to present himself as a moderate and every so often there a rumors that he'll jump to the DFL but, if you check his voting record, he's nearly as bad as that weasel Coleman when it comes to supporting Bushco. Though I will give him points for publically saying the whole flap over Wellstone's memorial service should be dropped (he said that at the time).

and I'm frankly really fed up with the voice vote
on the floor of the Senate yesterday pushing through

last April.
My Congressman co-authored The Patriot Act...would
you vote for him again?
