CNNI reporter in Baghdad got cut off after more mortar rounds were heard |
|
Pregnant pause.
Now their local correspondents are talking about Iraqi schools.

1. Since the penalty for disobeying a cover ban is death, I'm not surprised |
|
And it is also CNN policy to abide strictly by regime guidelines, respect cover bans, and stay on message.

2. CNNI is still not back to Baghdad |
|
I heard at least two mortar rounds go off a minute ago.
CNNI is regrouping to figure out what the heck is going on.
This is a huge embarrassment to Bush, but at the most, people are being killed or wounded as a result of his ineptitute.

4. CNNI still isn't back to Baghdad |

Last view we got of the Baghdad reporter was discussing who had been injured, then more mortar rounds heard in the background, the reporter standing there not talking, but waiting to see what would happen next. I said, to my friend, "Watch this guy blow up before our eyes." Then, cut off.

5. if they were really diabolical... |
|
....they would have a second round of mortar timed to hit the same place about an hour after the first round.

6. CNNI has finally admitted that it doesn't have to be Saddam's people |
|
who are shooting a mortar round. CNNI got a one star general on the tube to say that firing one of these artillery rounds requires very little training. Just aim and point. Be within 5 km, and you're good to go.
And Rummy thinks we don't need more troops.
I'll bet some fishermen have decided to aim a few at the US compound before heading home from work.
