and sadly, passing this link around will probably get me dubbed as un-American
:grr:
but I'm doing it anyway.
remember the firefighters and EMT's from 9/11? They had pics and names all over tv then, memorializing these heroes who gave their lives for their country.
but if you give your life in Iraq, you are forgotten

3. Great point about all the fanfare for 9-11 victims, firefighters - while |

Iraq veterans get squat! Truly the Vietnam nightmare all over! How soon before the new Middle East version of "Apocalypse Now" gets produced? Perhaps not until the Evil Chimp Cabal has the friggin' Draft back in full swing!

21. MSNBC used to have a segment |
|
called "America's Bravest" or "America's Heroes"... something like that.
I've noticed they don't seem to do it anymore...

As Arcane1 said, "It's about time."
Bush's war.
"Bring 'em on", Bush dared those who would hurt our soldiers. "I mean what I say" Bush had lectured the world over and over.

|
If he's not - I can imagine you have quite a few "heated" discussions! Or worse - you can't talk politics at all. (the present arrangement of have with my Repuke in-laws - even though they have recently sworn off the evil war chimp!! More evidence that his reselection effort is doomed - assuming we can get a Diebold free, legit election in this country!)

12. oh hell no, and we don't talk politics AT ALL |
|
his sig line reads as follows (but in red white and blue letters)
"Bring'em On" "THE GAME IS OVER" "MY FELLOW AMERICANS, LET'S ROLL" "WE NOT TIRE, WE WILL NOT FALTER, WE WILL NOT FAIL"
he loves that tough talk, which is why, IMHO, the repubes get so many votes. Politics as pro Rasslin'
he's Nat'l Guard, FOX news on constantly when he's home. Used to send me Clinton body count emails, etc, but after I debunked every single one of them via snopes, I hardly get any email at all from him any more :-(
on a plus side, he's not a fundie! :-)

Insane conservatism!! My father was a liberal Dem - raised by a wealthy, completely Repuke family! He said he ALWAYS felt like he was growing up in a household full of strangers!! Bizarro!

It's truly unbelievable that nothing was made of that comment. I honestly think the American public has trouble distinguishing between television drama and true leadership.

|
and the faces of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives...THEIR PRECIOUS LIVES...there are no words for the sadness I feel for them and their families, or the utter disgust I feel for Bush and this administration....none.

9. 435? One for every member of the House |
|
Unutterably sad. And for what? A "threat" that didn't exist, and a shitload of money to be transferred out of the federal treasury and into the overstuffed pockets of Bush administration campaign benefactors.
Sorry we wasted your lives for nothing, sons and daughters of Democracy. You really deserved better.

11. The McNeil-Leher News Hour on PBS does this as well. . . |
|
near the end of each broadcast (or at least on Friday evenings), they show the photos of the most recent dead in a moment of silence.

|
Well, you might not want to draw conclusions I'll leave that to yourself Maybe you're still walking, maybe you're still talking Maybe you've still got your health. But every time I hear the news That old feeling comes back on; We're waist deep in the Big Muddy And the damn fools kept yelling to push on.
Knee deep in the Big Muddy And the damn fools keep yelling to push on Waist deep in the Big Muddy And the damn fools keep yelling to push on Waist deep! Neck deep! we'll be drowning before too long We're neck deep in the Big Muddy And the damn fools keep yelling to push on

18. Seeger played/sang this on the Smothers Brothers Show |
|
during the Vietnam War.
One of the events that caused CBS to kick them off the air.
I think he sang ...'and the DAMN FOOL keeps yelling to push on' ...a very clear reference to LBJ.
