27. Well stop it, you are dead wrong on this. |

Kerry shot a pheasant and then ate them. Big freaking deal.
Do you eat Chicken? What do you think, they play soft music to relax them and then inject them with drugs so they don't feel pain? Or maybe they grab their head and snap their necks? Who cares.
Unless you are a vegan/vegetarian, then you are just being petty and it does not look good. As a Dean Supporter, rise above the bashing.
Please.

4. does eating a plant that you killed mitigate the fact that you killed it? |
|
You have more than 30 trillion cells in your body. Does the fact that you provide a host to several times that number of bacterium and viruses make up for it all?
Only if you buy union.

a plant is not equivalent to eating an animal, if it is a religious belief about the sanctity of life then yes plants are life too, but animals have the same capacity to feel pain as we do, only less of an ability to write bad poetry about it. Eat meat if you like but give up the half baked christian/natural law justification for it.

Never more. That, to me, is when it becomes unethical.

Somebody has to kill it, now don't they? What's wrong with doing it yourself, rather than just passing the dirty work onto someone else- It's pretty obvious which route is the most cowardly.

hunting and eating what you kill. Whether Americans realize it or not, many people today would not have meat on the table if they didn't hunt. Laugh at me if you like, but it isn't a funny topic. I know it well.

I know several hunting friends who regularly violate hunting laws here in NC to provide food for friends of theirs who are very poor and depend upon his illegal hunting for some food.
I follow the law when hunting. Lucky for me though I can hunt in my back yard and it is full of deer!
Making venison chili, jerky, hams, and spiedies this week!

than buying it. take the karma directly and avoid the middle man. it makes you honor the animal.

20. Sorry, I can't agree. If you eat meat but don't kill it, you're no better |
|
or worse than somebody who kills what they eat.
Do you think that domesticated animals LIKE to be slaughtered? I eat meat and I'm O.K. with that. I don't hunt, but I don't have a problem with people who do. After all, we're both eating dead animals. The only difference is who did the killing.

22. I'm a vegetarian, but I can appreciate the Native American way |
|
They would give thanks to the spirit of the animal which they killed, for giving their life to the hunter, that he or she may eat and clothe themselves.
My problem with killing animals is that they have a limbic brain, which is the seat of the emotions. I won't get scientific here, because that's not the point of this discussion. Personally, I will not eat meat, but I don't make it a moral issue with those who do. I figure, sooner or later, most people will decide that it is a business based on very cruel treatment of animals. Also, the meat they are eating is laden with antibiotics and hormones and god knows what other enzymes and biochemicals the stressed-out animals secrete into their flesh. If that won't stop you, then best of luck with your health. Sorry. I'll step off my soapbox now.

31. I'm a vegetarian and not a Kerry fan, nor a fan of hunters |

but I would say that hunting your own food from the wild is more ethical AND less cruel to the animal then buying meat that has been raised under modern factory farming conditions.
