CBS smoked tonight Very critical and very blunt about everything.
Led with casualties, then Leach's crit of Bush and then Bush scrambling about his falling numbers while standing in the burnt
stuff. Contrasted "Bring it on" and attacks=success with his
begging tone now about Iraqi help, etc. Said that hospitals have
dealt with about 7000 catastrophic injuries, illnesses. Very bad.

They are contrasting Bush's tone now with then. Mr. Swagger ass
is in disarray and talking out of both sides of his mouth, they
are suggesting. Also * talked about the crashed helicopter for the first time: poor kids, we're too strong to quit, usual crap. He's still 'blurring the line' --cbs words-- with 9/11-Saddam hookup
but now he is expressing contradictary comments over Saddam's
'participation'. Said Saddam was making trouble and then said,
"don't know what he's doing now."

* toured Cally and looked at stuff. Didn't promise aid.

Elections followed around country. Resonating issues? Talked about
Philly election. FBI fiasco there, including thought that FBI helping the Repugs. Turned voters toward Mayor against FBI.

BUSH states of Miss. and Ky: some say its not about Bush, its about
candidates. Feel econonmy/war will determine things.

54% bush approval rating: his father was only one who had that rate
at the same time.

Walmart target of fed investigation over immigration violations.

Healthsouth CEO pleads not guilty of cooking books.

Job cuts topped 171K, more than twice Sept.

Stock market down.

Reagan miniseries up next. <Since Dan Rather edits the evening news, I imagine that its in the mix because he's pissed about this>
talked about conservative ire over st. ronnie. Uproar came when CBS
cancelled. Nancy-Controlling. Reagan-Confused. Talking heads arguing
over defamation, etc, and pissed over 'reagon's indifference to AIDS patients -- he was, IMHO> Showtime will show it. <Owned by CBS> They said CBS didn't just blink, they caved completely.

Conservatives are STILL made about this. 'misinforming viewers on Showtime now'.

Blames it on culture war in America. James Brolin's manager said this is a repressive era.

No one seemed to scream over that bush puke movie where he seemed to act like a man rather than a coward and CBS mentioned it as an unspoken act of hypocracy from the right.

Last thing was on fat in fast food.

2. They're probably pretty miffed at the GOP right now
Because of the Reagan mini-series fiasco.

Fucking Nazi pukes did everything they could to sideline it, and they succeeded.

12. Because of the Reagan mini-series
CBS MINSTRELS:
Brave Les Moonves ran away,
MOONVES:
No!
CBS MINSTRELS:
Bravely ran away, away.
MOONVES:
I didn't!
CBS MINSTRELS:
When boycott reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
MOONVES:
No!
CBS MINSTRELS:
Yes, brave Les Moonves turned about
MOONVES:
I didn't!
CBS MINSTRELS:
And gallantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet,
MOONVES:
I never did!
CBS MINSTRELS:
He beat a very brave retreat,
MOONVES:
All lies!
CBS MINSTRELS:
Bravest of the brave, Les Moonves.
MOONVES:
I never!

Any word on when they will be doing the Clinton miniseries? I would be glued to the couch. Especially during the Monica under the desk scene.

5. So conservatives are mad that Showtime will "misinform" viewers...
They must have really been pissed in September when showtime portrayed their MISERABLE FUCKING FAILURE of a pResident as some kind of fucking action hero on the day when, in reality, he was playing hide n seek all over the country like the piece of shit coward that he is and has always been.

7. Yes! I just posted the same thoughts
in the Reagan miniseries thread! I told my husband I thought Bush pissed off the press when he accused them of being biased. They were but for him so I guess they figured to be a bit more truthful. Anyway, you're right roguevalley!! One bad news story after another for the bushies. And they hammered the conservatives for hyprocracy. It was heaven!

9. The media SHOULD be angry at Bush.Inc.
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 10:15 PM by Maccagirl
How many times can you kiss somebody's ass and be kicked in the face while doing it? Of course the media would never admit to being enablers.

10. Aaron Brown showed a piece on the families of the kids killed in the
chopper crash. Heartbreaking. All of them said don't forget that
kids are dying every day.

Cut to Bush in Cally: "Saddam did it. Thank you families for your
sacrifice." Really lame, beyond, beyond lame. He looks testy. "Years from now people will say thank goodness people stayed the course and won this battle on the war on terrorism."

Cut to speaker: He's toast.

confusion over bush's message (Aaron) Bush didn't speak about the implications of the attack and didn't want to. White house had to take questions but making 'big picture-making progress' lies. The
polls numbers going down, people turning corner and WH is trying to
return that corner back to dumbness and on and on.

They are going to talk about DOver black out, reagon and the debates next. Tune in to CNN now if you want to hear it. Much much criticism
in a sober way.

11. Let's make a list of all those this misadministration has pissed off!
Let's see, bu$hco. has pissed off the CIA, the media, the families of the troops, the middle and lower classes, the firefighters (and policemen?), the environmentalist and scientists. Who else needs to be added to that list?

13. Some traditional conservatives
Those who believe in (yeah, I know it's old-fashioned) a balanced budget, reining in the deficit, not growing the government too big (see Homeland Security).

State Department

Civil libertarians

Gay men, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders

Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics ... anyone not Christian or Jewish.

Career professionals in agencies like EPA -- one told me he had never felt so alienated from the appointed top folks.

Immigrants

and .....

Most of the rest of the world.
