Alright, Democrats KICKING BOOTY On Long Island!!!!
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 10:46 PM by Magic Rat
Steve Levy (D) wins the Suffolk County Executive Race, meaning Democrats have control of both Counties for the first time ... in like... a century!

The Democrats are also looking strong in the county legislature races. Some are still really close, but they'll either retain their one seat majority or pick up a seat by my calculations so far.

:)

Seems to be a good night to be a Democrat!

6. Is Carolyn McCarthy going to win reelection next year?
I read she is on the ropes.

Is this true?

7. she's not on the ropes
But she's going to be in the most high profile House race this year.

She's running against a black Republican.

Of course, a black republican ran for a congressional seat in 2000 and lost. So there's no guarantee that she's on the ropes.

Plus she's been there a while and has done a descent job. If those oh-so-annoying Marilyn O'Grady ads about Barbara Streisand and her "liberal friends" didn't knock her down - nothing will.

But James Garner, the guy she's gonna run against, runs a good campaign (and he is a great campaigner) she's in trouble.

Garner, BTW, is the president of the Council of Mayors and is the Mayor of Hempstead, the largest town in America.

8. Thanks for the info
I'm just hearing rumors that if she doesn't get her gun control bills passed, bye-bye.

So that's just a bunch of bull. Okay.
