Fun facts about Salt Lake City and the Utah governor race in 2004! |
|
These polls were done by KBYU-TV and really show the Democratic vote in Salt Lake City.
Since our governor is now head of the EPA the seat is open for 2004. The Democrats have chosen their candidate, while the Republicans are fighting it out. Anyway if the election were today, this is whom the people would vote for.
Matheson is the Democrat.
Hanson - 27% Matheson - 73%
Herbert - 13% Matheson - 87%
Huntsman - 38% Matheson - 67%
Karras - 17% Matheson - 83%
Stephens - 19% Matheson - 81%
These numbers are SHOCKING. The only Republican that even has a SHOT at winning Salt Lake City is Huntsman, and he's a moderate to liberal Republican. Even then he loses BIG.
Sadly it will be the rural vote outside of Salt Lake City that will decide the election next year.

1. I think Matheson has a good shot |
|
and I might be moving to Utah next year so you might have one more Democratic vote in SLC. If Wyoming and Oklahoma and Kansas can elect Dem governors I think Utah can especially with Matheson.
