Bush didn't realize there was a female in the recent casualties
I was watching Jim Lehrer's News Hour on PBS. They showed a clip of Bush saying how awful it was that these sons and daughters had just died in Iraq in the helicopter downing, then corrected himself by saying, that in this case it was just sons.
I yelled at the TV: "There was a woman killed, you jerk!" Then Lehrer came on and said that, for the record, a female soldier (he gave her name, Karina Lau) was also one of those who lost their lives in the incident.

What a jerk. He didn't even know that there was a woman? I guess Condi didn't mention it to him, since he said he only gets his news from his advisors.

Just pissed me off big time, for some reason. If I knew it, and I'm nobody, why didn't he?

3. He doesn't care
And, frankly, he has no reason to care. His support base, the one that votes for him and gives him money doesn't care. Therefore, he doesn't feel that worrying about it is worth his time.

4. Does he know that the draft may very well include his daughters?
After all, it's hardly fair that there are women dying as US soldiers in Iraq now but women won't be drafted.

6. Thanks for setting me straight, theodoty!
He certainly should be a nobody, that's for sure.

I hope that misstatement of his gets some attention, because I really do feel it reflects his callousness, especially when it dealt with such a disastrous situation. How could he not know that a woman was among the dead?

I guess Karl Rove forgot to put it on his cue cards.

I am so ashamed of this mis-administration. I am glad, in a perverse sort of way, that I know in my heart that it was not legitimately elected.

8. I'm so sad and sorry for their families.
There is nothing more tragic than a young person having to die. Especially a war without cause. Other than to enrich oil companies.

I have to believe that these brave, selfless young people have gone to a better place. I only hope their families can find some comfort in that. You never get over it, never.

Bush is a servant of the agents of the dark forces. I never believed in satan, but I'm starting to change my mind.

10. He hasn't been paying attention to casualties
He hasn't visted dover once, am I correct on this? In his speaches he makes little to no mention of the dead corpses of Americans stacking up...

I'm not sure, but I think of everything this is the must sickening and disgusting thing of all - I don't believe the dead weigh heavily on his heart at all... I think he sleeps fine.

if people aren't dying, there's no war, and business is bad.

12. Too Stupid To Be a Toilet Scrubber
(and to incompetent for that job) had a vague sense that something about what he just said was inconsistent with his previous statements and so it "corrected" itself. Well, it seems it had actually made a true statement about the casualties, and so this uncharacteristic candor had to be rectified.

On his talk show Mike Malloy repeatedly challenges his pro-BFEE listeners to tell him one thing that * has said that was true, and true to its mission, * has maintained a perfect record of never uttering a honest statement.

13. Why would he trouble his beautiful mind with that shit?
They're just peasants- not part of the aristocracy, like King George.
