1. Sharpton and Dean...

"Democratic presidential hopeful former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont, left, clasps hands with Rev. Al Sharpton of New York, right, moments after the televised Rock the Vote Democratic presidential debate at Boston's Faneuil Hall, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003. The two hopefuls had a heated exchanged during the debate concerning voters who display the Confederate flag."(AP Photo/Michael Dwyer, Pool)

2. Jesse Jackson called this "feud" and invention of the white press.
He suggested that it was an invention intended to drive a wedge, that it was ridiculous to imagine that black politics was a monolith, and the article I read this in (google search a week ago) said that their wives talk on the phone almost daily.

3. Sharpton's a candidate
I think he has higher aspirations than comic relief.

Sharpton said, "I will support any of these candidates. Anyone of them would be better than Bush."

I think this "split" is much ado about nothing. Much like the Confederate Flag "controversy."

Notice how every candidate said that they believe the Democratic Party should expand its base and all said that Dean is not a racist. But it didn't stop them from attacking him.

me shaking my head. You tell me that it's not about politics.
