CBS-Reagan movie (letter writing campaign?) |
|
hate to post and run, but I'm my way out the door to get to work...
Thought I would throw this out to DU'ers...
do you think a letter-writing campaign to CBS that urges them to air the movie as originally planned would do any good?

1. I would rather see us expend our energies on a bigger and more |

important issue. I'm sorry, but I can't see this movie idiocy as anymore than bloodletting by cable companies trying to grab some of the CBS market shares. I won't contribute to that crap. It's why we have the mess we do now in news coverage and people believing that the talk shows are news. I'm at the point where I won't watch any of them.

2. No let it go as any one who wishes to see it can buy it. |

This stuff will make more buy it. these type things are all sort of off the wall.I will say the the aid thing sounds right as no way was he going to do a thing and I believe one of the kids reported the beatings. I really do not think He or Bush really like people or not the every day type.

While those posting above me in this thread are correct, a letter campaign is really a waste of time and energy. I did send an email to CBS yesterday to tell them I felt their decision was cowardly. It's easy to do via their web page feedback section and really only takes a minute or so, depending on how wordy you get. You are online anyway, doesn't hurt to voice your opinion and then watch the movie on Showtime.

4. By all means, LET them hear from us about this! |
|
Even if it's "only" email. They know they caved to Reich-Wing pressure. They need to know that we know.
To me, it would be different if it were any other network besides CBS cowering like this; CBS set the standard for objectivity and factual reporting with The CBS Evening News and 60 Minutes all those years ago. Now, they're whoring out, just like ABCNBCCNNFochs.
A once-great operation like CBS needs to be reminded of how FAR it has fallen!
