Who else was disgusted by the media today?
I turned on the news, and out of no where they go into some graphic with flashy lights, and dancing images, and the reported with a jovial voice announces that Udai, and Qusay Hussein had "finally" been caught. I think the headline read something like this, "Son of Saddam, were hunted down today".

There's something to be said about being more civilized than our enemy, but unfortunately we cannot say that.

3. I would have been interested in hearing about there trial.
But yeah, they needed to be caught.
Would U.S. have tried them, or the world court?

4. Right!
Spot on! I don't care who it is, and I don't care what they've done, noone deserves that kind of treatment. We don't need to weep for awful tyrants, but we need to maintain a sense of decorum.

6. I too was thoroughly disgusted with these reports,

I guess this is a case of "the sins of the fathers" and no matter that the sons had no real power. The people I heard on National Corporate Radio were actually gloating over these deaths and calling them "justified". If we are going to murder everyone who had anything to do with Saddam Hussein maybe the media could use the pictures (1983) that have been going around which show Donald Rumsfield shaking hands with Saddam Hussein. In this way they could point to still another connection, and I'm sure there are several others who could be implicated along with Rumsfield in a similar fashion.

8. Very disgusted
I saw some of CNN and they flipped from the Hussein story to Jessica to the Eiffel Tower. It was all like a summer shark story - there was no difference in how the news was presented. I remember when news of serious national importance was covered and presented as such. I miss the old CNN (sigh).

9. Whether it was "justified" or not, murdering them instead of capturing
them was a typically idiotically macho Bush call.

If it was actully Saddam's sons who were killed, they were worth far more -- militarily, politically and strategically in every conceivable sense -- alive and captured rather than dead and martyred.

10. My first experience with ClearChannel news...
...was this afternoon. I was listening to a music channel I rarely have on, and got "ClearChannel 60 second news." So help me, it went something like this: "There was lots of good news today. The stock market was up 61 points. In a fierce firefight, American forces killed Saddam's two sons. And there was a fire at the Eiffel Tower! Now, these messages..."

:puke:

11. On Days Like This - I Tune Out
completely, except for the Daily Show, which only made mention of it -saying we killed Saddam's kids, so they wouldn't be bothering Mrs. Saddam anymore.

Thank you Jon Stewart
