Poll question: Which candidate will you not support against Bush |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 10:00 AM by jeter
Which candidate will you never support. Under no circumstances even if it means 4 more years of George W. Bush as President?
Feel free to give reasons why.

2. I would vote dem regardless |
|
but I could not vote for Lieberman in good concious. I would also have a little bit of a hard time voting for Gep. and it isn't because I don't like him, it is simply because he was in a leadership position and should have questioned this administration more but instead he decided to stand next to the chimp in the rose garden on what should be remembered as a tragic day in US history. Anybody else, I could vote for without hesitation.

13. Do you mean you would vote for Lieberman |
|
but not in "good conscious"? If , in fact, you are saying you won't vote for Lieberman, then I suggest that you change your name from "lovedems" to "lovesomedemsbutnotothers".....
Your message is not too clear.
I will vote for the Democratic nominee whoever that may be because we have a grand scale emergency in this country and his name is George W. Bush. We cannot survive another 4 years of his rule.

3. Today has been a little nastier than usual around here |
|
So I thought I'd do this. Because I don't care if Chester the Molester is running for President against Bush. That's who i'm voting for.
I support Dean in the primaries (obviously). But if he should lose against any of the others then I will support that candidate gladly.

But there is not an option for me personally. I will support no one but Dean. Period.

9. We'll see what the Dem party looks like |
|
I'm not very happy with it today. If we keep giving up issues to get southern or right wing voters, it won't be a party I care anything about anyway. So I don't know.

10. If you won't support the Democratic nominee |
|
then you are NOT a Democrat.
Why did you join this party? For the tea and finger sandwiches?
Supporting the Democratic nominee is what Democrats do. Sitting home and sulking because your favorite didn't win is the equivalent to campaigning to reelect Bush.
Have a good cry - but get back to work!

11. I'm the Southern guy with a Confederate flag on my pickup.... |
|
except I don't have a pickup, and my car doesn't have a Confederate (or American, for that matter) flag on it.
I'm concentrating on Dean. If he doesn't get the nomination, then I'll re-evaluate my plans at that point.
There are several candidates that I'd NEVER vote for, but hopefully it will not come to my sitting out the election. Gotta think POSITIVE....

12. Listen to what you're saying |
|
when you say you will never vote for one of these candidates. Do you really want 4 more years of Bush? Isn't that the same as saying "there is no difference between Gore and Bush"? Does anyone believe that now?
I will gladly vote for any of the 9 candidates in Nov against Bush. I may have to hold my nose to vote for Lieberman but I would be happy to see anyone of them beat Bush. Hell I would vote for several Republicans over Bush if I thought they had a chance to beat him. John McCain, anyone?

14. any Democrat is better than Bush |
|
I'd even rather have some Republicans than Bush... I think guys like McCain and Powell would be better than Bush. Although I'm not sure I'd ever vote for a Republican. The thought makes me puke.

15. against my better judgement |
|
I'll vote for any dem.
I do think that Lieberman would be a total disaster, in many ways worse than Bush...
But on the other hand, the likelihood of Lieberman getting the nomination are so slim as to be negligible.
Any other dem candidate would be a huge improvement.

16. I may even vote for Joe, despite the party split he would further. |
|
You know, the one that was created during the 2000 election. If the Democrats ever wanted to hand the Green party a mandate, nominating Joe Lieberman is the way to go.
But, I don't think he really has a chance, so it won't come to that.

If the vote were held today with Dean the nom, I just could not vote for him, I would have to go with my gut and vote third party.
The reasons right now are many and that may change but as of today if what I've seen here and my one and only Dean meet-up from his support group is any indication of the man himself, there is no way. Anger is not a mandate.
You can take this any way you want but I don't give up my values and my principles for party politics.

...I assume that I'll be over whatever offensive things supporters of other candidates, or the candidates themselves, have said. I wasn't thrilled about the way Gore ran against Bradley, but I voted for Gore. I can't imagine any of these candidates doing anything that would get keep me from voting to return Bush to his Crawford outhouse - although the emergence of an interesting 3rd party candidate (not Nader) might complicate my choices a bit.
