Dean just adressed BBV in his speech !
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 12:46 PM by Egnever
He said that one of bushes pioneers that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for his campaign also owns the company that makes the electronic voting machines we all vote on !!!!!!!!

Edit

ok speech is over heres the exact text on BBV

They are people like Walden O’Dell, a 2004 Pioneer, who is also manufacturing electronic voting machines to count our votes, and has said that he is, quote, “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President next year.”

4. The one about FEC matching funds
In which he asks his supporters to vote whether the campaign should reject the funds (and have an unlimited cap on fund raising) or stick with them.

George W. Bush calls his most powerful money-bundlers “Pioneers” and “Rangers,” who bundle together hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions.

The bundlers are people like James Harless, Chairman of International Industries, a coal industry group, who put together 355 thousand dollars to get George Bush elected.

They are people like Steven Letbetter of Reliant Resources, who put together 214 thousand.

They are people like Frederick Webber, former president of the American Chemistry Council, who bundled another 221 thousand.

They are people like Walden O’Dell, a 2004 Pioneer, who is also manufacturing electronic voting machines to count our votes, and has said that he is, quote, “committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President next year.”

11. The only concern
I have is his 'prior remarks' about working within the limits. I'm sure his opponents are loading the smear shotguns already .. but he has survived MUCH worse .. and like many of his supporters, I consider a sign of good leadership when one can reevalute and change course when it's indicated.

13. I was at the speech
when he was talking about the CEO promising to deliver Ohio to Bush someone in the audience yelled out "is he gonna count the votes himself"… pretty funny.

17. Good for Dean, where's Clark on this?
Good to see Dean saying it in public. He should keep it up. This flag sticker "controversy" and pile-on is total crap, in my opinion. This is coming from a long time confirmed Dean basher :)

19. Clark is no fool. He'll come around
I'm sure his people have given him the same BBV info we all share here at DU---look how many Clark supporters are on DU. I think he's still trying to line up his organization. But I have faith he will be on board with this. He's a hip guy.

22. But Dean is a horrible Klansman!
He said "confederate flag" in a speech! He must be stopped! So what if he's consistently ahead of the curve and forward-thinking and takes zero shit! We must destroy him!

28. Trippi announced about 3 weeks ago
that the Guv was going to start talking about BBV. He's been sort of hinting around it in his speeches for awhile but this is the first in which he makes a direct hit. Be expecting MUCH more from Dean on this issue. This is only the first volley.
