Since when did CBS turn into state run television. This just shows that neo-cons control the media?

3. Jesus has broad shoulders he can take it, Ronnie, well... |
|
Ronnie's image has alwasy been a "house of cards" sort of thing. One good sneeze and he's toast. Ronnie's undoing would set into motion a chain of events that would not be favorable to the Republicans.
This was a first admendment violation, I feel a sneeze coming on.

6. How was it a first amendment issue. |
|
The first amendment applies only to gov't suppression. The conservatives threaten a boycott of both CBS & of the sponsors. Look right here on DU and you will find threads calling for a boycott of Rush's sponsors. How is it a first amendment issue when they use a boycott and not a first amendment issue when we do the same thing? We need to be consistent, or we get slammed and laughed at for being hypocrites.

8. There are numerous posts asking for exactly that. |
|
For the most part, Rush's advertisers have written off the left as a market that they can't reach anyway, so they are going for the right as their market. An advertiser like CBS's Hallmark wants both sides to buy their stuff, so they are careful not to anger either side. They like non-controversial programs. So Hallmark is afraid of a boycott while Rush's sponsors aren't.

4. "Why such FEAR??? " Because they plan on thawing Ronnie out... |
|
... in a few months, and announcing his "death". That way, the nation can bask in the glow of a few weeks of "Praise Ronnie", leading up right up to the election. A movie depicting him of anything less than a saint right now would interfere with that.

5. Oops! I forgot. Andrew Sullivan is watching! |
|
Andy, if you're reading this, that was SARCASM... which, I know, you conservatives don't always quite "get".
For your clarification, there is a running joke that pops up every now and then here at DU that Reagan has already died, and that Repubs are saving the "announcement" as an October Surprise, should Bush need it. It's dark humor, yes. And I know you guys consider Ronnie a saint. But, hey, just consider yourself lucky WE didn't write the Reagan movie!
