VT Poll: Bush Approval rating 42%, Dean leads Bush 50-38%

Haven't seen this posted elsewhere, so I'm not sure if this is a dupe.

This poll was taken within the last week. Some interesting numbers here, as the hometown favorite, Dean of course is expected to do well, but if he can hold his state this early, there's no reason to believe he can't do well elsewhere. South Vermont seems to be a little more liberal than the north going by these results.

Primary-Dean leads all challengers with 47%, Kerry is a distant second with 18%.

General-Dean leads GWB by 12 points, in all categories (men, women, North and South Vermont)

3. good
This is one of the few polls I've shown which show a Democrat actually leading in his home state against Bush, and it isn't all that surprising. In Connecticut, a Quinnipiac poll had Lieberman ahead of Bush by 11-points in a poll last month.

4. It's shame Vermont has so little electoral vote clout.
This one of Dean's many problems. He comes from a small state and region we dominate that unfortunately also has few electoral votes.

5. I expect any dem will carry Vermont
but don't think it will be a major problem. Vermont is a rural state and I think that background will be helpful.

7. Well sure, I would expect him to lead Bush in Vermont
Seriously, how far ahead is Kerry vs. Bush in Massacheusetts.
