It looks as if the Draft May Be On...
You know after listening to Neocons say left and right that Bush will not institute the draft and that was just liberals being paranoid, there are certainly movements in those directions.

True Majority is actually trying to get people to sign up to local draft board to at least give some of the compassionate liberals a say on who goes (except that considering how Bush and the neocons took deferrments like crazy, who are we to believe that there won't be a Rich People Stay Home deferrment in this case?).

And The Guardian is running an article about the starting up of Draft Boards. http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0%2C3604%2C1077883%2C00.html

This is a sad day when the imperalist neocons can force us all into war because they want to steal the oil trade from the Middle East. :(

1. With neo cons
the more they deny the more they are up to what they claim they
deny.

The draft is coming, and if we are lucky it will come BEFORE the
election... only good thing of one is that it will wake middle
america...

There are way too many negatives to it, for me to even start.

If you are anywhere from 16 to 25 start your file now, and be
aware the way the bill read to the house stands, you will have to
serve, even if in a civilian sector...

3. co status
If you want conscientious objector status, you have to start documenting it way before you are 18. That would be one reason to think about it when you are 16.

4. Already Starting Draft Boards
I could've sworn I read something somewhere about the Pentagon already calling for people to head the draft boards... tried to find it last night but couldn't.

They have to do this. There's no avoiding it, with even Turkey blowing us off.

5. Draft if it comes, will be only if * wins the next election
Draft if it comes, will be if * wins the next election.

Politics drives policy in the Bush admin.
NO draft til at least after the next election.

8. Draft will come either with Bush or a Dem
None of the "electable" Dems are promoting anything remotely resembling any sort of practical approach to the military issues at hand. On the contrary, they all want to pour more money down the rat hole.

6. Well I signed up
for registration on being a member of the draft board. I turn 26 in 13 days so I think I might just get lucky enough to squeak out of the draft, but I'd like to be able to help others who will not be so lucky. If you have to make picks in your community would you rather have a liberal who has a sense of family importance and understands class values, or a NeoCon in there saving his rich frat buddies and sending away all the poor kids?

If I got a shot at a Father and Husband who provides for his family and a single rich lawyer, that lawyer's ass head to war. He likely voted for Bush and thus voted for the war anyways.

9. How so?
Silly that it is being discussed here or silly that the Pentagon is trying to staff local draft boards for which there is no apparent need?
