Chimpy's "Culture of Life" and the death penalty
in today's press briefing with scottyboy mcmuffin, he said that the abortion ban would help to promote a "culture of life" in america.
another reporter made the rare exhibition of using some power of reasoning and there was this exchange:

Q: Okay. If the administration is taking steps to build a culture of life, could you explain why the President supports the death penalty?

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, again, because the President believes that it ultimately saves innocent lives. And that's why he supports it.

of course, there is absolutely NO statistical evidence to show that the death penalty acts as a deterrent or that it is linked with drops in the murder rate. if that were the case, then murder rates in TX should have plummetted while chimpy was overseeing record numbers of executions there.

it's good to see that the cabal is unrelenting in their refulal to let the evidence (or lack of) get in the way of their ideologies.

4. The inherent contradiction of being both pro-life and pro-death
Edited on Wed Nov-05-03 07:25 PM by Sick of Bullshit
Chimpy is most mellifluent when he is talking about money, oil, wars and death. Death has followed in his wake throughout his public life-- first, with the record number of executions he oversaw in Texas, with little if any review of the cases before the condemned met their maker; then, just a few months after setting up shop in the White House, he re-instated federal executions, after a moratorium of 38 years. Then, a few months later we had 9-11 and the subsequent war in Afghanistan, with its thousands of deaths.

Then there was the kidnapping of people from Afghanistan, who may be terrorists, or may be "freedom fighters", or may be average Abduls who were set up by their enemies, some of whom may have already been executed in secret. Now we have the "conflict" in Iraq that is causing untold death, destruction and misery to people who were absolutely no threat whatsoever to America.

Of course, the chimp himself told Bob Woodward that the events of 9-11 "provided an opportunity" since it created "new targets". The chimp also proclaimed “We will export death and violence to the four corners of the earth in defense of our great nation.”

http://www.awtw.org/news/books_Bush_at_War_240203.htm

Thus the chimp obviously loves death (as long as it is someone else's). So why would he be so interested in saving (American) babies?

First of all, he has to cater to his religio-fanatic base. But the ulterior motive is likely to provide the cannon fodder necessary for future empire-building.

I believe it is safe to say that abortions (apart from incest/rape-related) are most common among those people who can least afford (both financially and emotionally) to take care of a baby. In most cases, the baby that is born under such circumstances is guaranteed to grow up in a harsh environment, with few prospects for leaving that environment for a better life as an adult. The crippling or elimination of social and education programs designed to help such people will exacerbate the situation. Thus, we have what appears to be the intentional creation of a permanent underclass, with few prospects besides minimum wage work, drug dealing/abusing, or chronic unemployment. Of course, the military will nearly always accept them, and they may also view the military as the only viable alternative.
