1. This is ummm...a bizarre interpretation of SK's election laws...

A Regina man is angry after election officials told him his wife can't vote. Fred Steininger says his wife is facing discrimination because of her disabilities.

...

According to Saskatchewan's election act, a friend can assist an individual in marking his or her ballot, as long as the friend makes an oath of secrecy. Steininger says he was told he couldn't assist Marlene because he is her spouse, and not her friend.

2. still very early, but
but it's looking good for the NDP.

All results are leading, not yet called elected:

NDP: 30 seats

58 seats total, need 30 for majority.

3. Yes, done with paper and pencil and a big X - no BBV here !
Glad that they're not using black boxes to record the vote. It felt a lot better putting MY X in the circle, and watching MY ballot go into the ballot-box than filling out the little ovals for the scanner to read.

It's gonna be a tight race........

5. Looks like a premature call on their part.
They are saying it is 29 to 28 now with NDP leading in the
remaining undecided riding. If SP comes back to take that one
they will end up with a tie. Anybody know what happens then
and if that happened before?

6. It's a majority NDP govt 30 seats to 28
REGINA- Lorne Calvert has led his NDP troops to a majority government, the party's fourth straight victory and a level of success unmatched since the days of Tommy Douglas.

His party has won 30 seats to the Saskatchewan Party's 28. The Liberals were shut out, with even leader David Karwacki losing in Saskatoon Meewasin.
