The Environment in 2004
How come none of the major Dem. candidates have made the environment a major campaign issue? This is probably the area where the Bush admin. is the MOST vulnerable. Bush has made an all-out assault on the environment.

Drillling in ANWR and proposals for other protected areas
The White House directed EPA to lie about NYC air
The Cheney energy meetings
Double logging in the Northwest and illegal logging abroad
Defending illegal use of Navy sonar that has killed porpoises, chased away whales and dolphins
Transportation plan that stomps all over environment protections
...on and on and on and on for three years.

Here's the whole record:

Take a look at the month by month record - abosultely unbelieveable.

1. Clark on the Environment & the Economy
http://www.enviros4clark.com/lcv.shtml

I think Clark will have an environmental policy address in the future. He seems to be rolling out one major policy speech a week.

<snip>
"Yes. Respect for the environment will be a cornerstone of my campaign. For example, my first major speech on the economy included a significant discussion of the importance of protecting our environment. It is impossible to address economic growth without discussing environmental protection. In my campaign, I will expose the false dichotomy of jobs versus the environment and explain how a healthy environment is in fact necessary for a healthy economy."

2. Kerry has the best record but you won't hear about it here
while Dean, amongst the Dems has probably the worst, which is quite an accomplishement coming from the Green Mountain Sate.
