McAuliffe just earned some big points. (O'Liarly screaming!)
O'Liarly just ranted about Terry McAuliffe offering "SMEAR BOOKS" (OLiarly's word) for a $75 donation to the DNC. This is a BRILLIANT plan to get dollars for demos and keep the books in the spotlight.

O'Liar didn't say which books are being promoted by DNC. Anyone know?

He just said the repubs don't do this (LIKE THEY DON'T BUY UP BOOKS FROM COULTER AND THE GANG) and said the DNC is doing it so the authors will do the dirty work without democrats getting their hands dirty. I LOVE IT!

2. The DNC has been sending out emails offering.....
Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 08:16 PM by sgr2
a signed copy of Al Franken's book for $75.00.... it's a banner running down the left die of their letters.

BTW: 95% of the letters totally rip the living hell out of Bush, Terry doesn't deserve some of the criticsim he gets on this board.

6. Funny thing with that book...
Here in New Orleans, for a dude with no car who still burns for the movies, the only real option (when I don't have cab fare to get to the AMC googolplex in Harahan) is the Landmark on Canal Street. It plays indie movies, but they're always quality and even plays some multiplex fare (November 14 will see Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World be released) when it's worthy. Anyway, to get there, you ride the streetcar down to Canal. To keep myself entertained, I bring my ARCHOS 20GB FM RECORDER MP3 PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!! (pluggggggggggg, lol) and a book. Usually, I take Lies and the Lying Liars because there's just ALWAYS something to read. At first, there were only a few approving glances and mostly shifty eyes and grumbles. Slowly but surely? Lots of grins and positive comments. That's how I know the times, they are a changin'.

P.S. Same goes for the Dean for America button on my bookbag that I bring with me (houses the book and a few choice refreshments for the Landmark, shhhhhhhh).

:)

Later.

10. When I lived in NOLA
we used to go to the Landmark, too, but sometimes we'd take the bus up to the Pitt. That was an experience. "Roadhouse" was playing and the audience was really getting into it.

9. Al's facts
I haven't seen many of his facts disputed yet by the Right - they attack him, but not the facts of the book. I just need that for an argument with a moderate Rethug friend of mine.

5. DNC slogan should be:
"Piss Off Bill O'Reilly. Send Us Money"

It would be a massive success, as folks all across the nation would eagerly chip in if it meant causing that windbag to have an anuerysm

The only book mentioned by name was Hillary's. He said the DNC had purchased thousands of copies.
