Kubby speaks to cover-up of cannabis for cancer research
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 12:44 PM by Virgil
In 1971 Richard Nixon launched the War against Cancer. In 1974 research being done on cannabis led to the discovery that it could prevent several types of cancer. And what did the government do in the initial phases of the war on cancer when its most promising leads turned out to be marijuana? They buried the information because cannabis prohibition was more important than any thing that might prevent cancer or limit pain.

Steve Kubby was a Libertarian candidate for governor at one time in California and helped write what is the Compassionate Use Act that the biased papers call Prop 215 even though it says in the opening of the short act that it shall be known as the Compassionate Use Act. He is now a resident of Canada seeking asylum because without marijuana his adrenal cancer will kill him. It is no joke and it is unquestionably true.

Anyway, this is a big article as it shows the government has practiced deception in sustaining its policy of total cannabis prohibition and the article appears at http://www.sierratimes.com/03/11/07/article_kubby.htm It is also reproduced at http://www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread17748.shtml The comments at cannabisnews make it the better link to read this important article.

This is my first thread at DU. By the way, I am not a democrat but I will never vote Republican again in my lifetime. You can do a Google search for "The Great Right Dope" and it will probably take you to one of my comments at cannabisnews. I cannot believe no one else besides me calls Bu$h, The Great Right Dope. Maybe DU can change that.

This is your government on drugs- http://www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread17748.shtml

1. Welcome to DU
and a :kick: so who are you considering voting for if you don't mind my asking?

Nothing surprises me anymore I don't doubt there's truth to this at all I must also admit I think the so called War on Drugs is a racket.

I have to admit I often wondered if there was a cure for cancer found that was inexpensive (drug companies couldn't rake in the money) would it be kept from us?

3. Kuc for prez
Everyone else is just another corporate mouthpiece Cannot stand Kerry as he exhibited himself plainly in the coverup of the Iran-contra and his Kerry Commission. Dean is another rich boy but quite sincere I believe on restraining the deficits. Lieberman should be Bu$h's running mate, he is so Nazi. I am from NC and Edwards thinks it is about charm and looks. He has a good act, but he is a corporate whore. Kuc is the best man for the job and the media tries to keep him and more importantly, his thoughts, from reaching the mainstream.

But in the election, I will vote for the Democratic candidate if a nuklur explosion leaves only Bozo the Clown on the ballot. BuSh has ruined this country and its reputation across the globe. If Russia goes Euro, look for things to tank faster than they are now. There is no recovery from losing 3 million jobs. The media sucks. Republicans and the Nazi-dems suck. The economy sucks. Anybody but the Great Right Dope.

2. The research showed that marijuana shrinks tumors
and now the info on it helping those suffering with multiple sclerosis.

This new information - that the govt purposely suppressed the results of this research may possibly turn into a reverse of the tobacco industry class action suits.

Who will be the brave souls to start this ball of fire rolling?
