Today, my contractor flipped VP Cheney "the bird"
We're having house renovations done and our contractor stopped by this morning. We recently discovered that he is also a liberal Dem. He was beaming when he came in the door. He was on the highway this morning. A huge motorcade was travelling in the opposite direction. He was listening to the radio and heard that Cheney was in town and travelling that way. Figuring it was Cheney, our contractor opened his truck window and flipped the bird until the motorcade finsihed passing.

Who knows if Cheney saw it - but it made our guy feel great. And it'll give me soemthing to smile about all day. At least that's one way to bypass the "free speech zone".

3. Reminds be of my neighbor's contractor
This turkey had a "Clinton: Where's my tax cut?" bumper stick on his car back in the late 90's. I found it quite ironic that this guy, who's very job was due to the great Clinton economy, had the gall to put that crap on on his truck.

4. I Gave The One-Finger Salute To Nixon Once
He came to my home town (Morristown, NJ) in 1969 to campaign for William Cahill, who was running for governor. I was one of the protesters standing outside the Governor Morris Inn, where Tricky Dicky was to speak. As the motorcade approached, I broke from the group and ran to the street - I was the only person standing on that side of the street.

Nixon and Cahill were standing in the back of a limo with the top down. They both waved at me - I gave them the bird. They immediately turned and waved at the people on the other side of the street. I saw Nixon bend down and say someting in Cahill as they drove by - I've always though it was something like "I didn't see that kid witht he long red hair, brown scarf, and Marine coat on, did you?"

For years after, my mother was convinced the government had a file on me for what I did.......

5. Tricky Dick, hmmmm....
I haven't thought about that nickname in a long time. Maybe it's time to resurrect it.

Btw, I love your story!

6. Cheney couldn't have seen it, sorry,
he's a corpse. They don't re-animate him until they reach the venue. That way they don't have to have so much blood on hand to feed him.

7. I gave Chimpy the bird
He was in LA to stump for Simple Bill Simon. Usually, his motorcade came near us roped-off protestors. I was front-and-center, and so was my finger. The line of cops didn't seem to mind. And I believe he saw it, because I could see him peering through the window. Mission accomplished.

9. last time Cheney was in Denver
They closed down Lincoln Ave. for over 30 blocks. For those not familiar with the city, Lincoln is a major, one-way, 3 and 4 lane thoroughfare. I couldn't get close enough to that asshole to flip him off. Which I wanted to do not only because I can't stand the guy, but he made me way late!

10. I hope your renovations are complete.
If not, you may have to find a new contractor while this guy takes a vacation down in sunny Gitmo.
