Donna Brazile spoke at my school last night re:dem candidates for 2004
It was a pretty short speech, giving her opinion on what kind of chances each respective Democrat has. She grouped them according to 3 tiers:

The "Hello,Goodbye" tier;Basically those with no chance
The "Waiting to Exhale" tier; those wavering in the middle whose campaign will need to gain more steam to garner the nomination.
and the "Most Likey to Succeed" tier; those currently most likely to win the nomination.

She deemed Sharpton, Kucinich and Braun as parts of the lowest tier, saying they had no money, well organized campaign, or "credible message" (this made me think wtf?)

Lieberman, Edwards, and Clark were grouped in the middle. Said that Lieberman only had recognition at this point b/c of his Gore association, while Edwards and Clark had a good message, but no real campaign steam (again made me scratch my head)

Kerry, Dean, and Gephardt were grouped as "Most likely to succeed". She said most of the people who supported Gore support Kerry, while Gephardt has a stronghold on the union type crowd. She said Dean has been "in the drivers seat ever since the spring" and has "the only campaign with wings" and a great fundraising ability.

My conclusions: I would take Kerry out of the top tier and switch him with Clark. I really don't know why she said that Clark had no effective campaign, nor do I know why she said Kucinich, Braun, and Sharpton had no "credible message".

Overall, the speech was mediocre, albeit free.

1. I don't trust her...
She's a bit to cozy with Karl Rove for my taste. Anyone who is cozy with Rove has to be suspect in my opinion.

8. It's not slander it's widely reported.

But since you mistrust my intentions and slander me, here's a link.

http://www.sltrib.com/2003/Mar/03162003/nation_w/38863.asp

"Few would suspect that Rove regularly trades tips with Donna Brazile, Al Gore's 2000 campaign manager; she tells Rove how Bush's proposals are faring among Democrats, while Rove makes sure her clients are included in White House events."

Your apology will be accepted.

5. I'm with you.
Don't trust her intentions. She sold herself to the corporate media which means you toe their line.

Though I realize, Kit Seelye, herself being in the pocket of the Busheviks, is herself suspect.

Who can tell what is true and what is not in the rapidly Sovietizing (informationally-speaking) Bushevik Amerikan Empire.

14. That's silly
I've spoken to Donna Brazile and she is one committed Democrat. She is anything but a GOP sympathizer.

15. Playing quid pro quo with Rove doesn't encourage my confidence.
Your mileage may vary.

2. She has allied herself with Rove....
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 01:31 PM by hlthe2b
they are best "telephone buddies..."

So, I can't give any credence to anything she says. Sadly, another Democratic sellout, it appears to me.... (and, I'd like to be wrong on this).

12. I don't trust her
She's a pawn of the DLC. I despise the way she turned on Al Gore
after the last election - She back stabbed him when he was down.
She's not on the side of any liberal democrat, she stands completely
with the DLC and you know where that's gotten us the past few years.

say that she's friends with Rove on C-Span and that they have lunch together. I do understand why people don't trust her I know I don't.

9. This is how I would rank it
Bottom tier: No chance

1) Sharpton
2) Braun
3) Kucinich (1% and falling)

Middle tier: Have some support, but need something big to happen

1) Edwards
2) Lieberman
3) Gepthardt

Top tier: One of which almost certainly will be the nominee

1) Dean
2) Clark
3) Kerry

Switch Clark and Kerry, and that's the way it's lined up.

13. Thanks for the Link Liberal Veteran
I think that more than proves the point that she stinks. How anyone
on our side could be friends with Rove is disgusting. That man is
a monster and she knows it.
