7. As much as it would be nice to reward the other Dem candidates
with cabinet positions, you've got to keep the Dem Senators and Reps in place to avoid turning the Congress over to the repigs (or increasing their margins).

here's my picks (not as extensive as yours):

VP: Wesley Clark

Press Secretary: Bill Moyers

Commerce Secretary: Robert Reich

Defense Secretary: A non-military type...or Kucinch (Ha!)...or bring back Cohen

Attorney General: Eliot Spitzer

Secretary of State: Bill Clinton

Treasury Secretary: George Soros

9. good question
VP: Wesley Clark
Secretary of State: Bill Clinton
Commerce: Paul Krugman
Attorney General: the guy from New York (Spitzer?)

some place for Carol Moseley Braun & Bob Graham...

I'd try to raid as few sitting senators as possible - so, no Hillary Clinton or Dianne Feinstein.

Not sure who my first Supreme Court nominee would be, though.

10. Nice list, Here's mine for Kerry
but, taking all the strong liberals from Congress won't help your administration very much.

The best idea here so far is Bill Clinton for Secretary of State. Brilliant. He probably wouldn't take it. :(

Most cabinet positions get filled by people who were Undersecretaries in previous administrations, people who were beat in previous elections (Cleland comes to mind.), Secretary repeats like Minetta and Rumsfeld, and Governors like Ridge, Thompson etc.

VP: Al Sharpton
Defense Secretary: Gen. Wes Clark
Attorney General: John Edwards
Secretary of State: Max Cleland
