Poll question: Have you considered running for elected office?
All too many Democratic candidacies go unfilled each election. Perhaps there's a "Throw the bums out!" election brewing for 2004.

Question: Have you considered running for elected office?

If you are running (or considering), please post a message to let us all know how and where you'd like help.

6. LOL!
No, Jeff, we think you should drop out now because you'd make a terrible congressman and we want yet another ineffective term from that %&$(*%#(^#_*%(#$%)$( repuke Ralph Regula!

I so very much hope that, at this time next year, we'll all be congratulating you on your new office!

10. Jeff, humble suggestion for your web site...
DeanSpace. It's a web site "erector set" that just does a fantastic job building a community. It's free and (relatively) easy to do.

Visit by web site (signature line below) to see an example. E-mail from there if you have any questions.

13. Thank you
I'll take a look. The info for the site is complete, but I'm not fond of the linear feel it has.

I would like to run for the school board next year,
the next time there's an opening. My parents are both teachers, my son is in school in the district and I've always wanted to be a school board member for some ungodly reason.

I recall that Mr. Teacher was all annoyed because your son criticized the war monger president. Did you have that meeting?

Ran for City Council 25 years ago when I was 24. But I didn't finish last. I was 5th out of 8 candidates.

14. DuPage County, Right?
DuPage is changing quite a lot. Skewing more and more Democratic. Might check with Rick Klau of DuPage for Dean to see what his opinion is.

17. I will eventually. Not 2004, probably not 2006, maybe 2008.
Mainly because I'll be moving soon and I believe it vital to get somewhat established prior to running.

For what you ask?

Beats me, whatever office holds the greatest chance of falling, at the time that I feel is "right", to this hard-core Lefty...

I'm a planner now so I suppose a city council seat would be most appropriate. Perhaps a county seat, if the county is small enough.

Should be fun regardless.

I recommend it. It was a great experience. But you have to learn to ask for money. I just hated that. Good luck.:bounce:

20. I hate my area
The Democrats didn't support any canidates for national office in 2002. I would just consider running to actually give the people a choice.. I wouldn't care if I didn't have tons of Democratic Party monitary support. I just think that the people of the 1st congressional district of Virginia deserve another option that our current represenative... who is a sponsor of the Federal Marriage Act. I think I actually wrote in my name on the ballot. Get this at the polling place she actually had campaigniers near by!!! I know I live in a very conservative area but the people deserve a choice. I know that money could be spent better in other races where the Dems actually have a chance to win... but I would at least have the oprotunity to vote for a Democrat for congress.

Finally remembered her name... Jo-Ann Davis...

21. I'm not running currently.
I've been told it might be a good idea, eventually.

Right now would be a bit inconvenient -- my husband, Whitacre D_WI, is already running.
