the part on the South and 2004. They had a map of the states with two Repug Sens, two Dems and split. They named the 5 Dem Sens. definitely not running or possibly not running (Edwards, Graham, Breaux, Miller, and one more, I forget....of course, Breaux and Miller are useless anyway). Buchanan said that Kentucky would be in play, which is a negative for the Dems. They talked about the difference in money...Eleanor Clift, usually one to perk me up, didn't. She said money would be a huge factor...(the Repugs have tons more). Blankley said the Dems are out of touch with the South on taxes, prayer, abortion, etc. etc....mainly the cultural factors and Dean from Vermont won't relate at all.
I just felt so deflated, esp. after catching Shields and Safire earlier on PBS on the News Hour. Safire said they will blow out Dean if he's the nominee. So, Safire says he's for Dean.
On both shows, there was lots of talk about Dean's Confederate flag gaffe.
And, lucky us, David Brooks comes back to PBS now that's he's "settled in" at the NY Times, which Safire reminded us was LIBERAL.
God, no wonder I usually skip this stuff....my stomach is still in knots.
